VCE Biology Excursion: Werribee Open Range Zoo

Last week our VCE Biology class went to Werribee Open Range Zoo, to learn more about animals and their digestive systems. We had lots of fun with the tour guide, who showed us the different kind of skull shapes, and how to observe if an animal has more than one stomach. We even got to touch a snake! The guide was really nice and explained everything to us skilfully.

After the tour, we got onto a Safari bus, and the ride was great! We looked at all the different animals and their adaptations. The bus did not have windows, so thankfully there were no carnivores, but there was a giraffe that kept his head in the bus for quite a while. It was amazing to see the animals so close and how they acted. Some animals even put on a little show for us as we passed, showing how high they could jump.

After the Safari ride, we got to wonder around a bit and complete our worksheets, before we headed off. Overall, even though I have been to Werribee Zoo a dozen times, I still really enjoyed the excursion and would not mind going again.
