Book Week: Mask Making, Spoon Ville and More

26 October 2020

Book Week 2020 is in the “Books” and what a wonderful and exciting time had by all! The students, teachers, and staff participated in a week filled with interesting activities that highlighted the importance of reading and cooperation.

Just imagine walking into a school where students are sitting all over the place with books in hand or on a device. There is chatter but not the chatter of teachers correcting students, what you hear is the chatter of students actively reading to themselves and others. It was absolutely amazing!

Students created masks of their favourite book characters or characters from this year's Book Week theme "Curious Creatures, Wild Minds". They partnered with a lower or upper primary class for buddy reading and created the first Al Siraat Spoonville! This was only to be outdone by the sights and wonders of our annual Book Character Parade.

Overall, Book Week 2020 was an educational and fun experience for all. We can’t wait to continue the excitement in 2021, InShaAllah!
