Year 8 Girls: Camp Kangaroobie

29 July 2022

The year 8 Girls had the opportunity to return to Kangaroobie and enjoy some fresh air and nature at Camp Kangaroobie.

Students loved arranging themselves into their cabins, having fun with their peers, and getting to know their friends and teachers at a more casual and genuine level.

The year 8 girls were blessed with great weather, and had fun with survival games involving water guns, walking on the beach, sand tobogganing, canoeing, team-building competitions, marshmallow roasting and taking photos at the 12 Apostles.

Some education experiences were also integrated into the camp, where students looked at how erosion shapes the cliff faces and structures around the Great Ocean Road, as well as the formation of stalactites. Students also had the chance to learn about the stories of survivors of some of the shipwrecks!

On the bus journey back to school, the students were tired but content Alhamdulillah. Camp is an experience that stays with students throughout their schooling years and later on in life. Some of the crazy and funny events that occur are what help spice up school life! We hope we see everyone again at camp next year!
