Parent Education Seminar on Cyber Safety

29 July 2016

The Well-being Department has always been keen to collaborate with our parent community to educate and support our parents. Parent Education Seminars (PES) have been an initiative that commenced to fulfil this purpose of educating and supporting our parents with the various issues that they face in current times. ‘Cyber-safety’ is one such topic that is most relevant to our parents in this day and age of iPads, Twitter and Facebook!

Therefore, the Well-being Department held this term’s PES on Wednesday, 20th July on the topic of ‘Cyber-safety and protecting children online’. Our guest speaker for this presentation was Oscar Yildiz, JP, the CEO and founder of ‘BullyZero Australia’.

Our parents had the fantastic opportunity to learn about the issue of cyber-safety, cyber bullying and the various ways in which they can support their children at home. Our parents had an informative session that was also interactive with our traditional early prizes being rewarded to our parents who came on time! The session was a great success as established through the survey our parents responded to at the conclusion of the event, which indicated an average satisfaction score of 90%.

The Well-being Department would like to extend our gratitude to Oscar Yildiz, JP, and the ‘BullyZero Foundation’, our very own maintenance team and administration staff who always assist us in hosting successful parent sessions. We look forward to yet another fantastic session with you all next term. Watch this space for further updates!
