3 March 2026

Al Siraat was honoured to be represented at the annual Bubup Wilam – ICV Annual Ramadan Dinner, held at Bubup Wilam Aboriginal Child and Family Centre in Thomastown on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Al Siraat Represented at Bubup Wilam Ramadan Iftar

This special Iftar gathering began in 2017 and is now in its 8th year (with two years missed due to COVID), continuing to bring together community leaders, families and supporters for an evening of reflection, gratitude and connection during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Proudly supported by the Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV), the evening commenced with a beautiful Opening Du’a delivered by Sh. Alaa Elzokm, setting a spiritual and heartfelt tone. The Welcome to Country was performed by respected Indigenous Elder Uncle Andrew Hassan Gardiner, whose words reflected the importance of cultural respect, shared values and ongoing stewardship of the land.

The program featured thoughtful presentations from Bubup Wilam leadership, ICV representatives and community speakers, highlighting unity, cultural understanding and the significance of Ramadan as a time of compassion and service. Qur’an recitations and a closing du’a further enriched the spiritual atmosphere of the gathering.

The evening concluded with a generous and delicious Iftar meal, offering guests the opportunity to connect and strengthen community bonds.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Bubup Wilam and the ICV for hosting these meaningful annual Ramadan dinners and for their continued commitment to nurturing respectful and connected communities.
