Focus of the Week: Where we spotlight a key topic to share helpful tips, important information, and clear processes to support parents and students.

Focus of the Week: CANVAS Digital Learning

The Canvas Digital Learning Platform supports our students’ learning by providing a central place for class resources, communication, and assignment submission.

Students can easily access their learning materials and stay organised, while teachers can provide feedback and updates in one convenient location.

The Canvas app is available to download for free from the App Store.

Through the Canvas app, students can access:

  • Assignments and due dates
  • Marks received for assignments
  • Teacher feedback
  • Announcements from teachers
  • Their timetable
  • And more

Important Reminder

Parents are able to log in to Canvas using a Parent account, which allows you to observe your child’s learning and view their progress.

However, assignments and homework can only be submitted when logged in to the student’s account. Submissions cannot be made through the Parent account.

If you attempt to submit work while logged in to the Parent account, you may see error messages such as:

“User not authorised for this action”

“Submission error”

or similar notifications.

To successfully upload and submit homework, please ensure that your child is logged in using their own Canvas student account.

Below you will find helpful video tutorials that provide step-by-step guidance on:

  • downloading the Canvas app
  • logging in
  • submitting assignments.

After watching the tutorials, if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher for assistance.
