Focus of the Week: Where we spotlight a key topic to share helpful tips, important information, and clear processes to support parents and students.

Focus of the Week: Communication During the School Day

We are seeing an increase in students coming to the office to call home, as well as parents asking us to pass on messages to students during the day.

While we always do our best to support our students and families, it is becoming increasingly challenging to manage these requests in a timely and reliable way during the busy school day.

To help things run smoothly, please note:

  • Students are not permitted to call parents during the school day for general matters
  • If students need assistance during the school day, they should speak with their class teacher, Student Support Department (SSD), or the Health Centre Officer
  • While we try our best, we cannot guarantee that messages from parents will reach students in time
  • Messages can be missed if students do not hear or respond to announcements over the PA
  • We kindly ask families to confirm arrangements with their children (e.g. pick-up plans) before school

Mobile Phones at School

  • Students may bring mobile phones to school, however they are not to be used during the school day
  • Phones must remain in lockers or school bags while on school grounds
  • Students who use their phones during the day risk having it confiscated

Please note:

  • Emergency messages will always be prioritised

We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to ensure the smooth running of our school and the wellbeing of all students.
