White Ribbon Day 2016

Al Siraat is supporting the 2016 White Ribbon Day. White Ribbon runs violence prevention programs and campaigns across Australia with the aim of ending men’s violence against women, as silence and inaction will only let this violence continue.

College Principal Ms Rahat Arain represented the College on today’s White Ribbon Day event at the Whittlesea Council offices. Mr Michael Kaufman (Co-Founder of the White Ribbon Campaign) joined Mayor Cr Ricky Kirkham and CEO Michael Wooten to discuss the important community issue of family violence.

On behalf of Al Siraat College, Ms Rahat took the White Ribbon Oath, standing up with thousands of Australians determined to end men’s violence against women. Taking the White Ribbon Oath is a powerful symbol of one’s intention to be part of real change.

"I will stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s violence against women. This is my Oath."
