27 July: Australia Wide AusAlert Test

16 July 2026

We would like to advise our school community are advised that the Australian Government will conduct a nationwide test of its new emergency warning system, AusAlert, on Monday, 27 July 2026.

27 July: Australia Wide AusAlert Test

Here in Victoria, the test alert will be sent from 2.00 pm. While most compatible devices should receive the alert around this time, it may take up to one hour to reach all devices.

Compatible mobile phones, tablets and some smart watches will emit a loud siren for approximately 10 seconds, vibrate, and display a message confirming it is a test. As this is a Critical Alert, it will sound even if devices are on silent or Do Not Disturb mode.

Please be aware that this alert may be heard across our campus during the school day. There is no cause for concern and no action is required.

AusAlert is Australia’s new national emergency warning system, designed to rapidly deliver location based emergency warnings during events such as bushfires, floods, severe storms and other major emergencies.
