EOI: Mental Health First Aid Course at Al Siraat

Mental health challenges can affect anyone. This practical course equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to recognise the signs of common mental health problems, start supportive conversations, respond to mental health crises, and guide people towards appropriate professional support.

Topics include:

  • Recognising common mental health conditions
  • Responding to crises such as suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, severe anxiety, psychosis, substance use, and aggressive behaviours
  • Reducing stigma and providing compassionate support
  • Practical strategies that can be applied at home, in the workplace, and within the community

The course is suitable for anyone aged 18 years and over, including parents, educators, workplace staff, community and faith leaders, volunteers, and anyone wanting to better support those around them.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an Accredited Mental Health First Aider Certificate, valid for three years.

Public courses typically cost $350 – $400, however, thanks to funding, this course is available for just $20, including a participant manual to keep.

The course will be offered at Al Siraat College, with sessions available over a weekend, two Saturdays, two Sundays, or two Wednesdays, depending on demand.
