Sadaqah Ramadan 2020

Al Siraat will be collecting Sadaqah for distribution to people within our local community. Whilst this is not our usual practise, the College recognises the need in our community, this year in particular, due to the impact on families from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many people within our community have lost employment, are not entitled to benefits due to visa restrictions or have families that they are currently unable to provide for.

The Prophet, upon be peace, said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi). We are coming into the last 10 days of Ramadan where we can capture the reward of Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power). It is described in the Quran as, "better than a thousand months" (97:3).

“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.” [Qur’an: 97:3-5] (Sahih International Translation)

Please note: Funds may also be distributed outside of the local community depending on amounts received and assistance requests.
