Take Home Reading Program

Take Home Reading Program

Alhamdulillah, we are launching our "Take Home Reading Program" for Foundation to Year 4 students on next Monday, 26 April 2021. Students will come home with a plastic folder which will include a copy of a book and a Student Diary & Reading log book. The program is a wonderful opportunity for students to improve their reading through parent involvement.

Its success is based on students' commit to reading each night during the week (Monday – Thursday). Their "take home reader" bags will remain at school on Friday. We encourage the students to read books on MyOn from Friday to Sunday.

The program provides a variety of books for our students for home use. As you can imagine, to run it efficiently lots of books are required. We therefore need to ensure the books are cared for and returned. Students are not to cut the pages or write in them.

If a book has not been returned within one week, you will receive a note informing you of the cost of replacement ($5). If the book is damaged, you will receive a note informing you the cost of repairs ($3). The cost of replacing damaged and misplaced/lost books must therefore be the responsibility of the child and ultimately the parent/caregiver.

A special thank you to all of our Teacher Assistances for preparing over 2,000 books.
