International Women’s Day High Tea

The (all women-run) committee of our Parents and Friends Community (PFC) hosted a spectacular “Sisters in Wonderland” High Tea for International Women’s Day last Friday night.

Tickets sold out in no time and the event was fully booked: It was a glamorous celebration of the wonderful women of our community, their uniqueness, sisterhood, and showcased the importance of women in Islam. For the evening, we had 2 wonderful hafiz graduates, Yusra Ifran and Jameelah Makbool of Year 8. They opened our night with beautiful recitation and English translation of Ayas from the Quran about Jannah. We were also blessed to have Ustazah Rasha, the head of Tarteel Institute, inspire us with her talk on the importance of sisters in Islam. Our wonderful PFC team ended the night with fun and games. Winners were presented with prizes.

On behalf of the PFC, I would like to personally thank all the volunteers who helped out on the evening and in the lead up to the High Tea. Events like these are not possible without the support of our beautiful and generous volunteers. JazakumAllahu khairan.

We would also like to thank Cake 'n Crumbs, Fitnat Godfrey and Tabets Bakery for the flavourful sweet treats and savouries on the evening. Special thanks to sister Afia Farhan for donating delicious biryani for the night. May Allah SWT reward you all with goodness in abundance.
