Our Year 3 students enjoyed an engaging and educational excursion to CERES Environment Park in Brunswick, where they participated in the “Towards Zero Waste” program.
Through a range of hands on activities, students discovered the impact waste has on our environment and explored practical ways to reduce pollution and protect our natural resources.
"Do not cause corruption upon the earth after it has been set in order.” (Qur'an 7:56)
They took part in a Merri Creek clean up, learnt how food scraps can be transformed into nutrient rich compost, and even created their own recycled paper during a papermaking workshop.
The experience brought sustainability to life, encouraging students to think critically about the choices they make each day. As students explored ways to care for the environment, they were reminded that, as Muslims, we are entrusted with the responsibility of being stewards of Allah’s creation.
"Indeed, Allah loves those who act with excellence.” (Qur'an 2:195)
They returned inspired with practical ideas they can apply at school, at home and within the wider community.
