Year 5 Boys: Annual Darebin Creek Bike Ride

5 December 2025

Our annual Year Five Darebin Creek bike ride was a resounding success once again, with students completing the full 23 kilometres in great spirits.

Year 5 Boys: Annual Darebin Creek Bike Ride

If proof of their enthusiasm was needed, one boy summed it up perfectly when he said to a classmate afterwards: “I just want to ride my bike now…” – even after spending the entire morning in the saddle!

The boys embraced the warm weather, the camaraderie of group cycling and the etiquette that comes with sharing Melbourne’s northern bike paths. A stop at the halal Hungry Jack’s was, of course, a much-anticipated highlight.

The return journey proved more challenging, with a few more uphill stretches than the way out. Still, every student rose to the occasion, stayed hydrated and pushed through to the finish. Their collective sigh of relief and achievement upon returning to the classroom said it all.

This much-loved tradition continues to grow each year, offering students a memorable blend of adventure, resilience and fun. Long may it continue!
