Year 6 to Year 7 (High School) Transition

Transition is an important process for current and new students entering Senior School for the first time from the Junior School and as they advance to the next year level.

At the end of every year, Al Siraat College provides a comprehensive transition program for all current and new students from Year 6 to Year 7. The change from Junior to Senior School, although breathtaking for many students, can also be a source of anxiety and nervousness.

It is our primary focus to ensure our students moving into new classes to feel familiar, safe, secure and connected to their new Senior School teachers, peers and the learning environment. Therefore, a careful Transition Program was organised in Term 4 to prepare students for their move to Senior School at Al Siraat. The program was organised for two days in Term 4. The program involves a series of activities including:

  • Introduction to Senior School

  • Expectations and Procedures in Senior School

  • Meeting new Senior School teachers

  • Introduction to Year 7 Curriculum Teaching (Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities)

  • E-smart Digital License Program

  • Well-being Program

  • Student Representative Leaders (SRC)

  • Year 7 Camp

Our special thanks goes to

  • Mr Vis Naidu (Head of Senior School)

  • Ms Emel Sener-Esen and Ms Marwa Breis (Year 7-9 Coordinators)

  • Dr Sonia Cheema (Head of Well-being)

  • Ms Noori Ahmad (Year 3-6 Co-ordinator)
