Secondary Science Week 2026: Seeds of Science

Our Secondary students celebrated National Science Week 2026 under this year’s theme, “Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all”, with a fantastic week of hands on activities, challenges and celebrations.

Year 7: Mousetrap Car Challenge
Students explored forces, motion and design as they created and tested mousetrap powered cars, solving problems along the way and enjoying some friendly competition.

Year 8: Dress Up Science Parade
Science came to life through a colourful Dress Up Science Parade, with students representing figures and concepts including Einstein, Galileo, red blood cells and white blood cells. Their creativity was fantastic!

Year 9: Science Scavenger Hunt
Students put their scientific knowledge and problem solving skills to the test, racing around the College to follow clues and complete a series of science based challenges.

Year 10: Sustainable DNA Models
Students combined scientific understanding and creativity to construct DNA models using a range of materials, while considering sustainability in their designs.

Year 11: Scientific Escape Room
Working in teams, students tackled a series of scientific clues and challenges, demonstrating excellent teamwork, perseverance and problem solving.

Year 12: Science Celebration
Year 12 students celebrated the completion of their course content after a year of hard work and commitment, enjoying some well deserved time together with their classmates and teachers.

It was wonderful to see our students embracing science through curiosity, creativity, collaboration and problem solving throughout the week. A fantastic celebration of science and learning!
