SRC: Year 12 Cultural Hi-Tea 2026

15 April 2026

As part of Cultural Diversity Week, the Student Representative Council (SRC), in partnership with the Year 12 cohort, hosted a Cultural Hi-Tea for Secondary staff and students in the College auditorium.

SRC: Year 12 Cultural Hi-Tea 2026

This planned event focused on building connections and strengthening relationships between Secondary staff and the Year 12 cohort. The auditorium was transformed into a welcoming and vibrant space where staff and students engaged in meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and celebrated the diverse backgrounds within our community.

Both students and staff contributed by bringing a variety of traditional dishes, creating a rich and inclusive food experience. This played an important role in fostering connection, encouraging interaction, and providing an opportunity for participants to learn more about one another’s cultures.

The event was led by College Captains Ahmed Ismail and Halimah Sheikh, alongside Vice-Captains Hadia Rashid and Hashim Khan, whose reflections highlighted the importance of inclusion, mutual respect, and active engagement.

A highlight of the afternoon was the opportunity for staff and students to connect in a relaxed setting beyond the classroom. This strengthened relationships, encouraged open dialogue, and reinforced a strong sense of belonging within the Secondary school community.

The Cultural Hi-Tea was a meaningful celebration that brought the community together, emphasising the importance of connection, shared experiences, and cultural appreciation.
