As part of Numeracy Week 2025, our Year 8 students represented the College at the Annual Maths Association Victoria (MAV) “Maths Games Day”, held at PEGS (Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School) in Keilor East.
The recent event brought together high-achieving students from across Victoria to engage in a series of fun and challenging mathematical activities. These tasks fostered collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, giving students the chance to enjoy mathematics in a dynamic setting beyond their usual classrooms.
Our students worked in teams to tackle problem-solving challenges, develop strategies, and build confidence in applying their mathematical skills. The day also provided valuable opportunities to connect with peers from other schools, reinforcing the importance of teamwork, resilience, and communication.
We commend our participants for their enthusiasm, dedication, and exemplary representation of the College. The event was an inspiring reminder of how enjoyable and rewarding mathematics can be when explored collaboratively, while also strengthening problem-solving skills that will serve our students well into the future.
