Year 9 LEAP: Quantum Cyber Investigation

15 September 2026

In Week 9 of Term 3, our Year 9 LEAP students visited Quantum Victoria to participate in a Cyber Investigation experience as part of their studies on Digital Literacy.

Year 9 LEAP: Quantum Cyber Investigation

Through hands-on challenges, students applied their digital literacy skills to real-life learning scenarios and explored ideas about cyber safety and cyber security.

Students reflected on their experiences and shared the following insights:

  • Sakina A. — “Looking through bank data, digital footprints and security footage felt like real cyber-detective work.”
  • Ammaar M. — “Everything we do online can be used to identify our location, so we should always be careful when sharing information online.”
  • Maysaan A. — “Simple social media posts can be used to track people and discover where they were at a particular time.”
  • Abdullah R. — “The timing of posts, landmarks in pictures and even comments can allow someone to track where you are and what you are doing.”
  • Joudy G. — “Hackers can use even the smallest piece of information to get one step closer to harming you.”
  • Hiba S. — “Every online action leaves a trace. The excursion made cybersecurity feel real instead of just theoretical.”
  • Farzana R. — “We should be mindful about what we post online and ensure that we do not share too much information publicly.”
  • Selena B. — “Small online mistakes can quickly lead to serious consequences.”
  • Amaya I. — “I learned that everything you do on the internet can be tracked.”
  • Maheen M. — “Your digital activity can always be traced and can have an impact on your life.”
  • Safwan J. — “Images you post can reveal information about you and show how easy it is to track someone online.”
  • Eeman B. — “Anything you post online can lead to more details being discovered.”
  • Elana Z. — “Every action leaves a digital footprint, even when people think it is private.”
  • Muneeb M. — “Even a picture can reveal your location, so it is important to keep your life private online.”
