The Al Siraat A and B footy teams recently competed in a high-energy match against Marymede College during the SSV Footy competition. Spirits were high, determination was clear — but the results? Well, let’s just say there’s room for growth.
Despite the score lines, the players displayed heart, hustle, and honesty in their post-match reflections.
“We are 100% confident in winning, and my position is defence. The teamwork and communication isn’t so great, but we’ll work on it in the second half,” shared Yusuf A, showing true resilience.
Imran A added, “Our defence is good, but they’re making some mistakes. We could’ve done better, yeah…”
The B Team faced an overwhelming defeat with a final score of 95-06, while the A Team put up a stronger fight, but still lost 66-24. Both teams walked away with lessons learned and heads held high.
“I feel good — the same with the team — but we could’ve played better,” said Hussain.
Judy didn’t hold back: “I feel like the team is not as good, and we looooost!!! But we have to destroy them next time!”
As Noah L put it: “It is what it is.” But that’s not the end — it’s just the beginning.
OVERALL SORE FOR ALL AL SIRAAT SPORTS: Even though Al Siraat had help from Allah ( SWT ) , Allah had done what was meant to be for Al Siraat, to possibly protect them from something even worse. May Allah ease all the SSV players for their effort and may Allah reward them for their sportsmanship and representation of Islam. Ameen. Inshallah next time, Al siraat earn victory from Allah and smash the next team!!
