This is always an emotional time, particularly for our departing 2018 College Captain Bilal Syed Adnan and Vice- Captains Nour Najem and Radwan Mahmandar. These boys have given so much of themselves to our College community who would like to thank them for their great leadership role throughout this year. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.

We once again Congratulate our 2019 Captains and Vice-Captains on their appointments and wish them all the best with their leadership work in new year ahead, inShaAllah!

My name is Hafsa Sarwar and I occupy the position of College Captain at Al Siraat College for 2019. At my final year in Al Siraat College, I aim to create positive changes, and an environment where the Islamic and Australian identities of students prosper.

I, along with my team, will endeavour to improve the Islamic value of ‘benefiting others’ by introducing service learning programs. This will give students a chance to serve their community and act as volunteers with a school supporting them.

I also aim to strengthen the Australian identities of students by encouraging the participation of more Australian events.

My ideas for strengthening the Australian identity of students comes from my vast experience of studying at Australian public schools. My contributions to strengthening the Islamic identity have originated from observations and comparisons made between Islamic private schools and public schools.

My name is Abu Bakr Ayoubi and I have been elected as College Captain for 2019. It is a great honour to be given this title and I wish that Allah grants me the strength and fortitude to lead my fellow students as a representative of the student council.

I see Al Siraat College as being an important tool to teach the Muslim youth how to succeed in this world and the next. With the right combination of mind, body and soul, every student is blessed with Islamic and worldly knowledge. I want to encourage others to stand up for themselves and for their brothers and sisters in Islam and humanity.

To uphold my position, I wish to be approachable to all who are involved in the school and wish to not only implement the school values in my interactions but also to incorporate the highest Islamic qualities.

My name is Morgan Hussein and I have been elected to represent the students of Al Siraat College as School/Vice Captain. I am grateful and honoured to be chosen for this position and I intend to work hard and support and encourage my fellow Student Representatives on the council, so we can all have a positive influence on the school community.

My goal is to provide more opportunities and resources for our students, working with the heads of school in continuing to improve the school community. I want to provide students of all ages with knowledge and the power to do good within the community. I believe that we can all be leaders, working together to make this school the best it can possibly be.

I want to instill the values of the college as well as our Prophet Mohammed (SAWS) in our students and our community. I want to uphold what he practiced and promoted, as a faithful follower of Islam. I live my life by his values, accepting them as my own and allowing his experiences and lessons to guide me, and I want to encourage the same for my peers.

I want to go above and beyond as a Captain and be a true representative for my fellow students. I truly hope to be a positive role model, someone who people are happy and comfortable to talk to if they have a problem or suggestion.

My name is Abdechakour Sai and I am honoured to have been chosen to be Al Siraat’s School Vice- Captain. I’m determined to surpass all expectations for this role and make 2019 a year to remember.

I whole heartedly believe in a cohesive environment in which students can excel on skills and concepts beyond their limits. I want to promote Al Siraat’s values by being the best role model, but also become a representative of the Islamic tradition and its teachings.

My position will give me the ability to connect the student’s thoughts and concerns and become the bridge to the executive team, a connection that will help elevate the student culture at Al Siraat.

With the position bestowed upon me, my skills and experiences will benefit Al Siraat and its community.
