News Student Leadership
16 October 2025
On Sunday, 12th October 2025, the Queen Victoria Market car park became a place of hope and humanity as our Secondary SRC students rolled up their sleeves to serve those doing it tough.
Under the leadership of our College Vice-Captain and a dedicated team of Year 7 – 12 boys, our Secondary students planned and hosted a community service project focused on feeding the homeless. The team prepared delicious BBQ kebab burgers with grilled onions, fresh tomatoes, and cool drinks, all cooked on site with genuine care and teamwork.
The joy in the air was unmistakable as dozens of people experiencing hardship shared warm meals, friendly conversations, and heartfelt smiles with our students. By the end of the day, more than 100 individuals had been served, each meal symbolising empathy, dignity, and shared humanity.
This outreach was more than a meal service; it was a lesson in compassion. Students experienced first-hand how small actions can make a big difference, embodying Al Siraat’s commitment to Values in Action.
Through initiatives like this, our students are learning that leadership means service, and that true education extends beyond the classroom, into the heart of the community.
