Our Junior School student Mariam Moeladawilah was representing the College and our Council of Whittlesea at the reception with the Governor of Victoria, the Honorable Linda Dessau AM at Government House on Friday, 2 December 2016.
Mariam was invited in her role as “Young Citizen of the Year 2016”. She won this award at the City of Whittlesea’s Australia Day Award Ceremony in January. Before and after the reception, she had the opportunity to meet and greet many of the other Australia Day 2016 recipients from other councils within Victoria and enjoyed viewing some of the 128 rooms inside Government House. Mariam’s favourite room was the gorgeous Ball Room.
Student leadership programs at Al Siraat College and family guidance are the key factors for our students' successes. We are very proud of Mariam’s achievements at such a young age. She is a source of inspiration to many other students. We wish her all the best for her future endeavours.
