We are pleased to share the latest edition of The Murabbi, centred on The Spirit of Hijrah.

The Murabbi Muharram Edition: The Spirit of Hijrah

We would like to remind our community that The Murabbi Institute’s official website is live and available for you to access current and previous monthly newsletters, watch educational videos, and explore a growing collection of articles, resources and publications to support your parenting journey.

The latest Murabbi edition reminds us that Hijrah is not only the historical journey from Makkah to Madinah. It is also a lifelong journey away from sin, distractions, and harmful influences, and towards Allah’s obedience and pleasure.

Muharram marks the beginning of a new Islamic year and offers families an opportunity to renew their intentions, strengthen their connection with Allah, and begin again with meaningful acts of worship.

For parents raising children in a new homeland, this message is especially important. Our children are navigating social pressures, changing values, online influences, and questions of identity. They need homes filled with mercy, wise communication, salah, Qur’an, dhikr, du’a, and strong family bonds. They need parents who model Islam with sincerity and help them develop the conviction to make choices that bring them closer to Allah.

Inside this edition:

  1. Renewing our intentions for the new Islamic year
  2. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the exemplar murabbi
  3. Qur’anic du’as for righteous children
  4. Raising resilient Muslim children in a new homeland
  5. Lessons from Hijrah for raising children who journey towards Allah
  6. Sunnahs of Muharram.

May Allah make our homes places of faith, mercy, and guidance, and make our children among those who continually journey towards Him. Ameen.
