At their Sovereign Hill camp, our Year 4 students had the absolute time of their lives! From panning for gold in the creek to being whisked away on a multi-sensory adventure powered by cutting-edge technology that brought the Gold Rush era vividly to life. It was non-stop excitement from start to finish.
Our students journeyed deep underground into a real mine, uncovering mysterious tunnels and imagining the life of a gold miner in the 1850s. They stepped back in time at a Pioneer school, learnt to wash clothes by hand, took part in a candle dipping workshop, and enjoyed tenpin bowling as part of their action-packed adventure.
Throughout the camp, our students explored how science, technology, and engineering shaped life on the goldfields, becoming curious learners and creative thinkers. Meeting the costumed Sovereign Hill staff made history feel alive and real as an experience that will stay with them for years to come.
But beyond the gold dust and glowing candles, what truly shone was the spirit of our students. Along the way, they also reflected on gratitude, teamwork, and respect โ core Islamic values that shone just as brightly as the gold they searched for.
