The Year 6 boys and girls, including the Hifz students, had a deliciously fun and educational day out at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery! As they walked into the colourful chocolate wonderland, they were greeted by the rich aroma of chocolate and friendly staff.

Students took part in a guided tasting session, sampling a variety of chocolates and learning how quality ingredients make all the difference. One of the highlights was decorating their own giant chocolate lolly, which gave them the chance to get creative (and messy in the best way!).

Beyond the chocolate, students also explored the business side of things – learning about the company’s marketing strategies, how products are designed and sold, and how the business is structured to deliver such a high-quality experience. It was the perfect real-world extension of their Humanities lessons on economics and enterprise. After the informative talk, the day ended on a sweet note with handmade ice cream enjoyed in the sunshine. A memorable mix of learning and fun for our curious future entrepreneurs!

It is free to enrol your children. You only pay for bookings when using the service.

How to enrol and book after school care:

  • Register for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) before you enrol (do this through your myGov account)
  • Enrol your children via the Extend website: click here
  • Nothing needs to be paid upfront.
  • Once children are enrolled, you can book either permanently on the same days each week, or casually only when needed.
  • The earlier ahead of time that you book, the cheaper the price (refer to attachments below for fees)
  • Invoices are sent out every 2 weeks, after using the service. No fees need to be paid in advance.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will help reduce the amount you will need to pay for after school care. You can check how much subsidy you are entitled to by clicking here.

To work out how much CCS you are eligible for, Services Australia will look at:

  • Your family’s income
  • The number of hours you and your spouse work
  • The number of children in your care
  • The age of your children

Many of our families and children are already enjoying the after school care program – we’d love for your child to be part of it too.
