Al Siraat was honoured to host the 2025 Interfaith Community Dinner in our North Wing Auditorium, bringing together community members, faith leaders, school representatives and dignitaries under the theme: “Together in Humanity, Together in Hope.”
The evening celebrated the spirit of Eid Al Adha and promoted interfaith harmony and mutual respect. Highlights included a Qur’anic recitation by Year 9 student Muhammad Shahim, student performances by our Songbirds (Year 6 nasheed group) and Soundwavezz (Primary drummers), and speeches from special guests including:
- Mr. Fazeel Arain, Principal of Al Siraat College
- Ms. Rahat Arain, Deputy Principal of Al Siraat College
- The Hon. Andrew Giles MP, Minister for Skills and Training
- The Hon. Lily D'Ambrosio MP, Minister for Climate Action, Energy, and the State Electricity Commission
- MP Basem Abdo, Federal Member for Calwell
- Ms. Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP, State Member for Broadmeadows
- Cr Martin Taylor, Mayor of the City of Whittlesea
- Cr Lawrie Cox, Councilor, City of Whittlesea

Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet, vibrant discussions, and a heartfelt closing prayer by Sheikh Waseem Khan.

A Spiritually Uplifting Start
The evening will open with the beautiful recitation of the Holy Qur’an by our honoured guest Qari Hammad Ullah Sajid, inviting barakah, tranquillity, and divine guidance. We encourage all families to join us for this blessed moment of reflection and unity.

Al Siraat, in collaboration with Nur-ul-Ilm Academy, is pleased to present a special women’s only event: “Healing from Grief & Trauma” with esteemed guest speaker Aalimah Nadia Sadiq.
Visiting from Dubai, Aalimah Nadia Sadiq through this workshop will present an Islamic perspective to healing from grief and trauma which can impact our own bodies, our relationships, how we interact with others and can also have intergenerational effects.

Al Siraat College’s esteemed ILM Program has been running successfully since its launch in 2020 and will continue into 2026, inShaAllah. Applications are now open for students currently in Years 6, 7 and 8 (entering Secondary Years 7 to 9 in 2026).
We welcome applications from students who:
- Are passionate about learning and practising their Deen
- Achieve strong academic results across all subjects
- Demonstrate excellence and aptitude in Islamic studies, particularly Qur’an and Arabic
- Are committed to meeting the demands of both mainstream studies and the ILM Program.
Important Note: Applicants must be able to recite the Qur'an with correct Tajweed. A Qur’an recitation assessment will be conducted as part of the enrolment interview to determine program suitability.
Applications for the 2026 intake will strictly close by Thursday, 19 September 2025.
