Al Siraat was honoured to host the 2025 Interfaith Community Dinner in our North Wing Auditorium, bringing together community members, faith leaders, school representatives and dignitaries under the theme: “Together in Humanity, Together in Hope.”
The evening celebrated the spirit of Eid Al Adha and promoted interfaith harmony and mutual respect. Highlights included a Qur’anic recitation by Year 9 student Muhammad Shahim, student performances by our Songbirds (Year 6 nasheed group) and Soundwavezz (Primary drummers), and speeches from special guests including:
- Mr. Fazeel Arain, Principal of Al Siraat College
- Ms. Rahat Arain, Deputy Principal of Al Siraat College
- The Hon. Andrew Giles MP, Minister for Skills and Training
- The Hon. Lily D'Ambrosio MP, Minister for Climate Action, Energy, and the State Electricity Commission
- MP Basem Abdo, Federal Member for Calwell
- Ms. Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP, State Member for Broadmeadows
- Cr Martin Taylor, Mayor of the City of Whittlesea
- Cr Lawrie Cox, Councilor, City of Whittlesea
- Sheikh Alaa El-Zokm, Imam of Elsedeaq Mosque, Heidelberg
- Representatives from various NGOs, council members, educational institutions, Australian Federal Police and local organisations.
Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet, vibrant discussions, and a heartfelt closing prayer by Sheikh Waseem Khan.

Al Siraat’s esteemed ILM Program has been running successfully since its launch in 2020 and will continue into 2027, inShaAllah. Provide your child with an opportunity to develop a stronger and deeper understanding of their Deen.
We welcome applications from students who:
- Are passionate about learning and practising their Deen
- Achieve strong academic results across all subjects
- Demonstrate excellence and aptitude in Islamic studies, particularly Qur’an and Arabic
- Are committed to meeting the demands of both mainstream studies and the ILM Program.
- An Ilm orientation is scheduled for Saturday, 31 October at 1:45pm.
Applications are open for Secondary students entering Years 7, 8 and 9 in 2027.
Applications for our 2027 intake strictly closing by 14 November.
Important Note: Students should be able to recite the Qur'an with Tajweed, and will be tested at the enrolment interview to assess their suitability for the program.
The Hiking Tribe is a grassroots initiative founded by Br. Najam and Br. Hassan. Their inspiring work was recently featured by SBS Urdu, highlighting how the group supports new migrants in building friendships, exploring the outdoors, and creating a strong sense of belonging in Australia.
Through regular hikes and community‑focused activities, The Hiking Tribe encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with nature, stay active, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes our country has to offer.
