We are pleased to announce the launch of The Murabbi Video Series: Tarbiyah & Islamic Parenting, a monthly video series developed to support parents and educators in building strong, meaningful relationships with children and young people through an Islamic framework of tarbiyah.
This series is produced in collaboration with Professor Mohamad Abdalla, from Adelaide University, who is the Founding Director of the Centre for Islamic Thought and Education (CITE), within the School of Education. The focus of the series is on how tarbiyah begins with connection, through presence, trust, and role-modelling, and how tawḥeed (the belief in the oneness of God and living with Allah at the centre of one’s life) sits at the heart of raising children who are grounded, secure, and morally anchored.
Each episode highlights the Prophetic approach to nurturing the young: Building relationships based on mercy and respect, listening with care, honouring dignity, and guiding through lived example. The series reinforces that effective Islamic parenting is rooted in relationships before rules, and role-modelling before instruction.
Parents and educators are encouraged to engage with this series as a practical resource to support intentional, relationship-centred nurturing. New episodes will be released monthly, in sha Allah.
May Allah swt grant us wisdom in how we nurture the young, place sincerity in our efforts, and allow our children to grow with firm faith and sound character. Ameen.
We are pleased to share with you the January edition of The Murabbi Magazine, our Islamic parenting magazine supporting families on their tarbiyah journey, offering simple and practical ideas to strengthen children’s Islamic identity amid contemporary challenges.
The Murabbi is rooted in the understanding that parents are the first murabbis of their children, with teachers serving as co-murabbis in this shared responsibility.
This January edition explores nurturing our children with intention, strengthening Islamic identity within the home, reviving Sunnah-based practices, and preparing our families for the blessed month of Ramadan.
Each monthly edition will in sha Allah include a section developed in collaboration with Professor Mohamad Abdalla (Adelaide University) unpacking foundational aspects of tarbiyyah for families.
Alongside this magazine, parents can also look forward to Islamic parenting workshops and seminars throughout the year, in sha Allah.
May Allah place barakah in our homes and guide us in nurturing our children with wisdom and care. Ameen.
You are warmly invited to our upcoming Parenting Workshop titled Nurturing the Whole Child, taking place in the ASC Auditorium in the evening of Monday, 9 February 2026.
