This morning, Al Siraat hosted an important parent information session regarding the proposed public bus route changes and what they may mean for our school community.
We were sincerely grateful to welcome Bronwyn Halfpenny MP, State Member for Thomastown, who generously gave her time to lead the consultation with our families. Ms Halfpenny provided valuable insight into the proposed route changes, answered parent questions, and guided attendees on how they can contribute meaningfully to the consultation process.
We appreciate all parents and carers who attended. As discussed, it is vital that families, particularly those in Epping and Wollert, complete the survey and use the comments section to share their lived experiences, especially given the ongoing transport challenges on the western (Aurora) side of Epping Road.
We strongly encourage all families living locally in Epping and Wollert to complete the survey and share it widely within the community before it closes on Sunday, 8 March 2026. Together, our collective voice can help shape better public transport outcomes for our school and the wider community.
With the blessed month of Ramadan now upon us, our College community has welcomed this sacred time with gratitude and anticipation. At the beginning of Ramadan, thoughtfully prepared gift packs were distributed to all Primary students and staff.
These special packs were carefully assembled by our Islamic Studies team, with the valued support of our dedicated Teacher Assistants, to mark the commencement of this blessed month in a meaningful and memorable way.
Each Ramadan pack has been carefully assembled with meaningful items such as dates, either a tasbih counter or miswak, pen and rubber or lantern key chain. These annual Ramadan gifts are meant to uplift hearts and encourage students and staff alike to embrace the spiritual journey ahead with enthusiasm and sincerity.
The atmosphere around the Primary School has also been transformed in celebration of Ramadan, with decorations that bring warmth and serenity to classrooms and communal spaces as a lovely reminder of the blessings this month brings.
We would also like to thank Islamic Relief Australia for supplying the Ramadan Activity Booklets given out to all of our Primary students.
We hope that this small gesture enhances our connection to the traditions and values of Ramadan. May this sacred month be filled with peace, reflection, and closeness to Allah (SWT). Ramadan Mubarak to all!

Join us this Ramadan 1447H for daily Post-Fajr Reminders at the Al Siraat Musalla: Short reflections from the Qur’an and Sunnah after Fajr prayer, designed to nourish hearts, strengthen īmān, and begin the day with remembrance of Allah.
We warmly invite everyone to pray Fajr in congregation and remain for a brief Islamic reminder each morning.
Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said: “Whoever attends ‘Ishā’ prayer in congregation, then he has the reward as if he stood half of the night. And whoever prays ‘Ishā’ and Fajr in congregation, then he has the reward as if he spent the entire night standing (in prayer).” (Tirmidhī)
Let us strive together this Ramadan to revive our mornings with congregational prayer, remembrance of Allah through the Prophetic morning athkar, and seeking beneficial knowledge.
We would like to advise families that adjusted school day timings will be in place during the month of Ramadan. From Monday to Thursday, school will conclude at 2:15pm for both Primary and Secondary students. Friday dismissal times will remain unchanged.
The updated Ramadan bell times are attached for your reference. These arrangements will be implemented from Monday 23 February 2026 and will remain in place until the interim break commencing on 16 March 2026.
To minimise disruptions to learning, we kindly request that students are not collected earlier than the designated finish time, except in genuine extenuating circumstances, such as a medical appointment. In such cases, the early pick-up procedure must be followed.
BUS STUDENTS
The students will depart the College at 2:30pm Monday – Thursday so will arrive at their stops earlier than usual. Friday timings will remain the same.
HIFZ STUDENTS
- Mondays – Thursdays: 8:20am -2:15pm
- Fridays: 8.20am – 2:00pm
- Saturdays 8:20am – 10:30am.
ILM STUDENTS
- Mondays-Fridays 7:30am – 8:30am
- Fridays- 2:00pm – 4:00pm
- Saturdays 7:30am – 12:00pm.
EXTEND STUDENTS (AFTER SCHOOL CARE)
After-school care will be available by our external, Extend, for Primary school students from 2:15pm onwards during this period for families who are registered with Extend.
Our Year 6 students were launched into an unforgettable journey through space during their exciting science incursion with Ms Emily from Hands on Science! The day began with students sharing their prior knowledge about space and reflecting on our place in the universe. Curiosity filled the room as big questions about planets, gravity and the vastness of space were eagerly discussed.
As the incursion continued, Ms Emily guided students to identify the planets of our Solar System in order from the Sun using different-sized objects. Gasps of surprise filled the room as they modelled the relative sizes of the Sun and planets, realising just how vast our Solar System is. Using a large-scale model, students explored the distances between planets and how long each takes to orbit the Sun.
A highlight of the day was investigating the forces that keep planets moving in space: Students spun a small ball inside a funnel to see gravity and motion in action, and modelled Earth’s rotation and orbit to understand day, night, and the changing seasons. These hands-on activities brought complex scientific ideas to life.
The incursion concluded with a look at Earth’s atmosphere and its role in protecting life and colouring our skies. Students were also excited to learn about space exploration and the forces needed to launch a rocket beyond Earth. The day sparked curiosity, deepened understanding, and inspired students to gaze at the sky with renewed wonder, appreciating the incredible beauty of Allah’s creation.

Be Prepared

Grassfire Safety
Grassfires can start and spread quickly.
• Call 000 only if you see flames and smoke.
• If you live next to grassland, walk two streets back to a safer area.
• If you live two or three streets away, stay where you are.
Stay Safe in Extreme Heat
• Keep cool using air conditioning or fans and avoid the hottest part of the day.
• Drink water regularly.
• Check on family, neighbours and vulnerable people.
• Take care around pools and waterways.
