During their recent visit to the Immigration Museum, our Year 11 Foundation English students engaged in a rich and thought-provoking learning experience focused on identity and belonging.

Students engaged with a range of exhibits created by both recent and long-established immigrants, considering how elements such as language, clothing, family, and physical appearance shape individual identity. They also reflected on how these aspects are balanced alongside an Australian identity and sense of belonging.

Through guided activities, students applied their understanding and reflected on the ways different influences combine to form their own identities. The excursion provided a valuable insight into Australia’s multicultural identity and supported students in developing deeper personal and analytical understanding for their coursework.

Applications are now open for the Learning Enrichment Accelerated Program (LEAP) for students currently in Year 6 who will be entering Year 7 in 2027.

LEAP is designed for academically capable and highly motivated students who demonstrate strong work ethics, positive attitudes and a genuine commitment to learning.

Program Highlights

  • Challenging Curriculum: Students engage in an accelerated and enriched program across English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Inquiry.
  • Limited Places: A small number of places are available for the Year 7 2027 intake. Both Al Siraat College and external Year 6 students may apply.
  • Co-Educational Stream: LEAP classes are co-educational, promoting a diverse and respectful learning environment.
  • Long-Term Program: Students accepted into LEAP commit to the program from Year 7 to Year 9.

Our Islamic Storytime sessions for 2026 has begun this week, welcoming mums and their little ones (0–4 years) for a gentle and engaging start to the year. Held in a warm and nurturing environment of room D4, the sessions included Islamic nasheeds, nursery rhymes, storytelling, craft activities and free play.

It was lovely to see both familiar faces and some news one enjoying the session together.  A special thanks to our wonderful facilitators Ms. Hina and Ms. Nukbah who are running the sessions this term.  These sessions provide a soft start to big school for mini Muslims, while building friendships and community.
