We are honoured to celebrate a remarkable group of our Primary Hifz students who achieved significant milestones in their Qur’anic journey by reciting 5 ajzaa, 10 ajzaa, 15 ajzaa, and the complete Qur’an (30 ajzaa) to Sheikh Waseem in a single sitting.
This outstanding accomplishment reflects the students’ dedication, perseverance, and deep connection with the Book of Allah ﷻ. Reciting such substantial portions of the Qur’an in one sitting requires exceptional preparation, consistent revision, and sincere commitment.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)
These achievements are a testament to the hard work of our students, the guidance of their teachers, and the unwavering support of their families. We pray that Allah ﷻ blesses our students, increases them in knowledge and understanding, and makes the Qur’an the light of their hearts and a source of intercession for them and their parents on the Day of Judgment.

Alhamdulillah, we recently celebrated the official sod-turning eremony for the new Year 7-9 building, marking another important milestone in the continued growth of Al Siraat College.
Behind every building are countless conversations, ideas, revisions, meetings, and dua. Working alongside ARM Architecture, together with valuable staff and student input, the vision has been to create welcoming and purposeful learning spaces for our Secondary students.
The new four-storey facility will provide Year 7–9 students with contemporary, purpose-built learning environments designed to support collaboration, creativity, and engagement. The building will include classrooms, presentation and project spaces, a library, specialist learning areas, collaboration zones, and a rooftop basketball court.
For many long-standing members of the College community, seeing another major building project commence is a special reminder of how far the College has progressed by the grace and permission of Allah.
We pray that Allah places barakah in this project and allows it to benefit generations of students for years to come.

Congratulations to our Year 4, 5, and 6 girls and boys who proudly represented the College at the 2km and 3km SSV (School Sports Victoria) Cross Country event. The day provided students with a wonderful opportunity to challenge themselves, build resilience, and demonstrate their commitment to physical fitness, perseverance, and personal growth.
Competing against more than 140 students in each race, several Al Siraat runners achieved top 20 finishes, reflecting the dedication and effort of our students throughout the day.
A special congratulations goes to Year 5 student Imran Adan, who placed 3rd in his race after an unfortunate trip near the finish line narrowly cost him an even higher placing. His determination and outstanding performance were truly commendable.
We also celebrate the achievement of Year 4 student Sarah Fakhreddin, who finished in an impressive 13th place in the girls cross country race, showing fantastic endurance and confidence.
We are incredibly proud of all students who participated and thank the staff and supporters who contributed to such a successful and memorable day.

A group of our ASC Year 9 Interfaith Ambassadors recently took part in a meaningful interfaith engagement experience through a visit to St Monica’s College.
As part of Al Siraat’s Interfaith Ambassador Program, students had the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and engage in open, respectful dialogue with their peers. The visit centred on connection, encouraging students to listen, share, and reflect on diverse perspectives in a supportive environment.
Throughout the day, students participated in guided discussions exploring identity, beliefs, and values. These conversations created space for honest exchange, allowing students to challenge assumptions and deepen their understanding of one another. The experience highlighted the importance of empathy, respect, and thoughtful communication in today’s diverse society.
Students were also welcomed with a campus tour led by St Monica’s student leaders, offering insight into a different school setting while building new friendships along the way. Informal moments, including shared refreshments, further strengthened the sense of connection between both groups.
Programs such as this play a vital role in shaping confident and socially aware young people. By engaging in authentic interfaith dialogue, our students continue to develop the skills needed to contribute positively to their communities and beyond.
We extend our sincere thanks to St Monica’s College for their warm hospitality and partnership in creating such a valuable learning experience.

Our VET Community Services students (Units 1- 4) recently participated in an intensive First Aid training program held onsite at the College, further strengthening their practical skills and real-world readiness as part of their coursework and assessment.
The program focused on developing confidence, decision-making, and responsibility in emergency situations. Guided by Ms Mubasshirah Malik and supported by Ms Noori Ahmad, students engaged in realistic scenarios that required quick thinking and calm, effective responses.
Through hands-on practice, students developed essential skills including CPR, use of an AED, injury management, and responding to a range of medical emergencies. The training emphasised not only what to do, but how to remain composed, supportive, and professional when assisting others.
This nationally recognised training equips students with valuable capabilities beyond the classroom, preparing them for future pathways in community services while enabling them to respond confidently in everyday situations.
These experiences continue to shape our students into capable and community-minded individuals. Many are already taking on active roles at college events, supporting the wellbeing of others and contributing to a safe and prepared school environment.

Our Year 9 students recently enjoyed an exciting and highly engaging excursion to Whittlesea Tech School as part of their Environmental Biome Art unit. During this incredible hands-on experience, students stepped into the world of architecture, engineering, design, and technology as they designed, planned, and began creating impressive 3D models of environmentally suited homes.
Throughout the workshop, students explored how homes can be creatively designed to suit different environments and climates while incorporating sustainable features, innovative ideas, and modern modelling techniques. The experience provided a wonderful opportunity for students to combine creativity with real-world problem solving in a fun and inspiring learning environment.
The excitement and enthusiasm throughout the day was fantastic to see, with students fully immersed in the creative process and proudly bringing their ideas to life. They are now looking forward to continuing and completing their unique house designs back at school over the coming weeks.
This valuable excursion encouraged imagination, teamwork, and future-focused learning, while allowing students to see the meaningful connections between art, design, technology, and sustainability in the real world.

The recent Year 12 Foundation Mathematics excursion to Puffing Billy Railway was a fantastic success, providing students with a valuable opportunity to experience how mathematics is used in everyday life beyond the classroom.
Throughout the day, our Senior students explored a range of mathematical concepts including data collection, measurement, time calculations, estimation, budgeting, and statistics. They observed how mathematics is naturally embedded in real-world experiences such as travel times, ticket pricing, distances, schedules, and analysing information gathered during the excursion.
It was wonderful to see students actively engaged throughout the day, from collaborating with one another, asking thoughtful questions to applying their mathematical understanding in practical settings. The excursion also supported students in developing their confidence, problem-solving abilities, and appreciation for the importance of mathematics in the real world.
We were incredibly proud of the students, who represented the College with excellent behaviour, respect, and maturity. They demonstrated kindness, patience, responsibility, and outstanding manners at all times, serving as wonderful Muslim role models within the wider community.
