Alhamdulillah, every two years the Islamic Studies department holds the ASC Hajj Simulation, which is an interactive and immersive experience where students journey through simulated stations and pillars of Hajj in an engaging and meaningful way. Students were taught about the rituals in class as part of their studies and then had the opportunity to apply their learning in practice through the simulation.
What is Hajj? Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. Once in a lifetime, every adult Muslim who has the physical and financial ability is required to make a pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah. Hajj is a commemoration of the life and trials of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his family. It is a large communal event, with over three million Muslims from diverse backgrounds gathering to perform the same rituals over five days in and around Makkah.
Hajj lasts for five days during Dhul Hijjah, the 12th month of the lunar Islamic calendar. Pilgrims stay at Mina, spend a day at Arafat, a night in Muzdalifah and then return to Makkah for the farewell Tawaf.
Eid ul-Adha, the Festival of the Sacrifice, is celebrated on the third day of Hajj. It begins with a special prayer and sermon, after which Muslims are recommended to sacrifice an animal such as a goat, sheep, cow or camel, re-enacting the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Ismail (AS).
The fundamental goal of Hajj is seeking forgiveness from Allah, requiring humility and patience throughout. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that a person who performs Hajj properly “will return as a newly born baby (free of all sins)."
Alhamdulillah, the simulation was celebrated at school with zeal and enthusiasm. Staff and students enjoyed carrying out the informative rituals together, including circling the education model of the Ka'bah, performing Sa'ee, standing in the plain of Arafat and making Dua with a bus tour, spending time in tents to commemorate the stay in Mina, collecting rocks at Muzdalifah, throwing rocks at Jamarat and drinking Zamzam water.
It was a wonderful experience that brought the understood rituals of Hajj to life for our students in an educational way, and we are grateful to all the staff who made it possible. We hope it has inspired meaningful conversations at home, in sha Allah.

Alhamdulillah, The Primary School team alongside the Islamic Studies department were delighted to host the Al Siraat Hajj Simulation Production. This was a special occasion that brought together our school community to witness our students bring the journey of Hajj to life through an immersive production play and informative experience.
Throughout the term, our Year 3 – 6 students explored the rituals and significance of Hajj in their classes. It was wonderful to see their knowledge and understanding come to life as they shared their learning with parents and community members through a live production and interactive experience.
Alhamdulillah, our students guided visitors through the key rites of Hajj, including Tawaf around the Ka'bah, Sa'ee between Safa and Marwah, standing on the plains of Arafat, spending time in Mina, collecting pebbles at Muzdalifah, performing the symbolic stoning at Jamarat, and drinking Zamzam water. Each station was thoughtfully prepared and presented with enthusiasm, confidence and sincerity.
It was a truly memorable occasion that enabled parents and the wider community to gain a deeper appreciation of the rituals and spiritual significance of Hajj.
We are grateful to the staff, students and families whose contributions made this event such a meaningful success. We pray it served as a source of inspiration and learning, while strengthening our understanding of this blessed pillar of Islam, inShaAllah.

As the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah approached, our students were enthusiastically engaged in a range of learning experiences designed to deepen their understanding of Hajj and its spiritual significance.
These activities help us to reflect on the significance of Hajj and the significant lessons it teaches about faith, perseverance, sacrifice and reliance upon Allah. Through the learning experiences, students have explored these important values and their relevance to our daily lives.
Students created informative displays, models, posters, artwork, reflective writing pieces and presentations showcasing the key stations and rituals of Hajj, including Ihram, Tawaf, Sa'i, Arafah, Muzdalifah, Mina, Ramy al-Jamarat and the sacrifice. Many classes also explored the connection between the rituals of Hajj and Allah’s Beautiful Names, helping students develop a deeper spiritual appreciation of this sacred journey.
We thank Allah (SWT) for giving us the opportunity for being in this environment where our students, staff, and families got together in supporting to make this learning experience meaningful and memorable.
May Allah accept our efforts, allow us to benefit from the lessons of Dhul Hijjah, and strengthen our connection to Him through knowledge, reflection, and righteous action (Ameen).

This year’s festival featured more rides than ever before, with our students receiving complimentary unlimited ride wristbands to enjoy the attractions throughout the day.
The festival grounds were buzzing with activity, featuring a wide variety of rides, food and drink stalls, crafts, clothing, showbags and community displays.
A major highlight was the Community Stage Program, which celebrated the diversity and talent within our community. The program opened with a welcome from the SRC Student Leadership Team, followed by a beautiful Qur'an recitation by our Hifz student, Tariq.
Audiences enjoyed a range of cultural and educational performances, including nasheeds by Songbirds and the Al Madina Arabic Language School Nasheed Group, cultural performances by the Libyan Women’s Organisation and the Urdu Language School, and an Arabic Alphabet Poem presentation by students from Epping Musallah Maktab.
The stage program also showcased important community initiatives, including presentations from Al Siraat College’s student-led Incinerator Action Group, who shared their advocacy work and commitment to environmental awareness.
