Our VCE students in Year 10, 11 and 12 have now officially settled into the brand new V Building, Al Siraat’s dedicated Senior School space.
Students are already making excellent use of the building’s purpose designed facilities. Earlier this week, they completed the General Achievement Test (GAT) in the new expandable classrooms, which provided a spacious and professional assessment environment.
Our Seniors have been particularly appreciative of their dedicated Year 12 student lounge area, which offers a quiet and comfortable space for study, collaboration and reflection. Complete with kitchen facilities, the lounge has quickly become a valued hub where students can prepare for classes and assessments while enjoying a greater sense of independence and responsibility.
The building has been thoughtfully designed to support the unique needs of Senior students, with dedicated spaces for girls on the first floor and boys on the second (top) floor. These areas provide an environment that promotes focus, maturity and academic excellence as students prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
Most pleasing of all has been the way our students have embraced the responsibility that comes with this new amanah (trust). They have shown respect for their surroundings and appreciation for the opportunities this exceptional facility provides.
We pray that the V Building continues to be a place of beneficial knowledge, personal growth and academic success for many years to come, inShaAllah.

What does the future look like? For our Year 9 girls, it came through hands-on experiences, inspiring conversations and career discoveries at the Trade & Tech Fit Expo 2026, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and organised by the Victorian Department of Education.
The expo brought together thousands of students, educators and industry professionals to showcase opportunities in trade, technology and STEM. Throughout the day, students stepped out of their comfort zones and engaged in interactive activities designed to challenge perceptions and broaden career aspirations.
“And say, ‘My Lord, increase me in knowledge.’” (Qur’an 20:114)
From operating advanced technology and exploring engineering concepts to speaking with professionals in emerging industries, students were encouraged to think beyond traditional pathways. The experience highlighted growing opportunities for young women in sectors shaping the future.
A highlight was meeting women working in fields such as construction, engineering, robotics, aviation, digital technology and renewable energy. Their stories of perseverance and achievement inspired students to consider possibilities they may not have previously imagined.
As Muslims, we are encouraged to seek knowledge, develop our talents and contribute positively to society. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.” (Hadith)
This reminds students that education and career success are not only personal achievements but also opportunities to serve communities and make a meaningful difference.

As our Year 9 girls returned, they brought back more than brochures and souvenirs; they returned with new ideas, inspiration and a greater belief in their potential. Our Year 6 students recently enjoyed a wonderful excursion to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery, where they were given a unique opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of chocolate-making and business operations.
The day began with an engaging educational session where students discovered how chocolate is made, from sourcing cocoa beans to producing the delicious chocolate products enjoyed by customers around the world.
One of the highlights of the excursion was participating in a hands-on chocolate-making activity, where students created their own delicious chocolate lollies. They also enjoyed tasting a variety of chocolates and learning how different flavours and ingredients appeal to different customers. Through these experiences, students developed a deeper understanding of how businesses use product design, packaging, and marketing strategies to meet the needs and wants of consumers.
The boys and girls were also treated to a well-deserved ice cream and had the opportunity to explore the beautiful grounds of the Yarra Valley. Masha Allah! With the sun shining and the pleasant weather adding to the experience, students enjoyed spending time outdoors with their classmates while taking in the stunning surroundings.
The excursion provided an authentic and engaging learning experience that connected directly to our Year 6 Economics and Business studies. Alhamdulillah, Students left with a greater appreciation of the processes, teamwork, and planning required to operate a successful business, while also creating lasting memories with their peers.

As the sun set over Queen Victoria Market, a group of Al Siraat College Year 12 students transformed an ordinary evening into an act of service.
Led by our College Captains and Secondary Senior students, they prepared fresh BBQ kebab burgers with onions and tomatoes, served alongside cold drinks. What began as a cooking session soon became an opportunity to connect with people, listen to their stories and share genuine kindness.
For many students, the experience was about more than serving food. It was about recognising the dignity of every person, offering a smile, a conversation and a reminder that no one should feel forgotten.
Alhamdulillah, more than 100 people enjoyed a warm meal throughout the evening. Yet the greatest impact was found in the gratitude shared and the lessons learned about empathy, humility and service.
At Al Siraat, we believe leadership is demonstrated through actions. Through initiatives such as Feed the Homeless, students step beyond their comfort zones to become active contributors to society. This experience reflected our commitment to Real Life Learning, developing compassion and social responsibility through meaningful community engagement.
As the evening drew to a close, our students left with a powerful reminder that even the simplest acts of kindness can make a lasting difference. Sometimes, changing the world begins with sharing a meal and showing that someone cares.
We are delighted to introduce the newest member of our Al Siraat Mini Farm family, a beautiful horse named “Pandora”.
Pandora has recently joined our school farm and will play an important role in our Year 5 and 6 Equestrian Program. Her arrival provides an exciting opportunity for students to develop their horse riding and horsemanship skills while learning valuable lessons in responsibility, patience, confidence and compassion.
The Equestrian Program is a much loved part of our outdoor education experiences, allowing students to build meaningful connections with horses while gaining practical experience in riding, handling and caring for them. Through these interactions, students learn the importance of trust, communication and respect, qualities that extend far beyond the paddock.
Pandora has already made a wonderful first impression, and we are excited to see the positive impact she will have on our students as they learn and grow through their experiences with her. Whether helping students build confidence in the saddle or supporting them in developing a deeper understanding of animal care, Pandora is sure to become a valued member of our school community.
We extend our sincere thanks to our farm Manager Br Sharief for welcoming Pandora and ensuring she settles comfortably into her new home. We look forward to sharing more of her journey with our community and watching her become a cherished part of life at Al Siraat.
