Our students proudly represented Al Siraat at the Primary School District SSV Athletics Day, competing alongside some of the fastest and strongest young athletes across our district.
Students from Years 3 to 6, both boys and girls, took part in a range of track and field events, demonstrating determination, sportsmanship and wonderful school spirit throughout the day.
This year was particularly special as, for the first time, Al Siraat entered a student in the Multi Class events. We are incredibly proud of Hasan Saleemi, who competed in the Shot Put and Discus.
Hasan spent the past two months preparing, training and dedicating himself to these events, and Alhamdulillah, his hard work paid off with outstanding results:

- 🏆 1st Place, Multi Class Discus.
Masha’Allah! Our entire College community is incredibly proud of Hasan. Watching him represent Al Siraat with such determination and excellence was truly inspiring and a wonderful reminder to all our students that dedication, perseverance and belief can lead to great achievements.

Our Secondary students recently had the opportunity to participate in two insightful careers education sessions facilitated by the Australian Community Development Program (ACDP).
Last term, our Year 12 students attended a careers session focusing on Government and public sector career pathways. Students gained valuable insights into the diverse range of career opportunities available within local, state, and federal government sectors.
More recently, on 3 August, our Year 8 and 9 students participated in Future Guardians, an introductory careers session designed to broaden their understanding of future career opportunities. The session explored the three levels of government and highlighted how the Australian Community Development Program can support young people in identifying pathways that contribute positively to our communities.
Both sessions were highly informative, encouraging students to think critically about their future aspirations and the many opportunities available to them. We are confident that our students will benefit from the knowledge and perspectives gained through these presentations.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Australian Community Development Program (ACDP) for their ongoing support and commitment to empowering our students. We look forward to continuing this valued partnership and providing further opportunities for our students to explore meaningful career pathways.

Our Year 6 students embarked on an exciting journey into the animal kingdom through Virtual Reality (VR)! This immersive incursion gave students the opportunity to get up close with some of the world’s most fascinating creatures without leaving their classroom.
Through realistic CGI experiences, students witnessed animals in action, including an eagle swooping on a mountain hare, a tiger hunting a deer, a pit viper stalking a tree frog, and predatory tuna pursuing a school of mackerel.
Beyond the excitement of VR, the workshop supported students’ learning in Science, exploring key concepts such as animal classification, habitats, diet, camouflage, adaptations and physiology.
Our Year 6’s were able to observe animals and their behaviours in ways that would not normally be possible in a classroom, helping them make meaningful connections between their learning and the natural world.
It was an engaging and memorable experience that combined technology, curiosity and scientific discovery, bringing the wonders of the animal kingdom to life!

Our Year 3 students had a fantastic time on their Woolies Adventure: As part of their learning, students walked to Woolworths using different routes, practising their navigation skills and following directions along the way.
They also learnt about important pedestrian and road safety rules before putting their skills into action. Once at Woolworths, students worked together to solve riddles and locate different items throughout the store, turning their visit into an exciting learning challenge.
It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn, explore and develop practical skills beyond the classroom. It was certainly a Woolies adventure to remember!

From time to time, we create special opportunities for our Foundation and upper Primary students to connect, learn and build relationships together.
During these sessions, our Year 5 students pair up with a Foundation buddy and provide a helping hand with activities such as cutting and pasting, solving a maths problem or reading a story together. While these practical tasks are valuable, it is the connection between our students that makes these moments truly special.
It is wonderful to see our Year 5 students embracing these opportunities to show kindness, patience and care simply by being there for their younger buddies. These small acts of support can make a big difference and help foster a strong sense of belonging across our Primary School.
A huge thank you to Ms Debbie for facilitating these meaningful connections and to our wonderful Year 5 students for being such caring role models!
Our Primary boys had a fantastic day representing the College at the annual Bachar Houli Cup AFL football competition.
Students from Years 4, 5 and 6 were selected to form the Al Siraat team and competed in a round robin tournament against other schools. Throughout the day, our students demonstrated excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, determination and enthusiasm, supporting one another both on and off the field.
It was wonderful to see our students putting their skills into action, embracing the competition and representing Al Siraat so positively.
A huge congratulations to all our players for their commitment and wonderful effort. Well done, boys! We are very proud of your achievements.

Our Year 1 students stepped into the past this week during a special history incursion named “The Past in Our Classroom” that brought their learning to life.
The classroom came alive as students discovered what everyday life was like for children many years ago. They learnt about how children went to school, what they used for their learning, the games they played and how different daily life was compared with today.
Our young historians were fascinated to discover that children once wrote on slate boards, with ink, followed very strict classroom rules and had far fewer holidays. They also learnt that children had many responsibilities at home and were often expected to help with chores from a young age.
Through stories, demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to ask questions, our students enjoyed comparing life in the past with their own experiences today. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and surprise as they discovered just how much everyday life has changed.
A big thank you to our wonderful facilitators and the Year 1 team for creating such an engaging and memorable learning experience for our students.

On time payment discount:
Parents who pay their invoices by the due date, will receive an 8% discount.
You find the due dates per term listed on page 2 of the schedule. Example: Pay Term 1 fees for 2027 on time by 26 February 2027 to get 8% discount applied.
Annual Billing:
Parents who would like to opt for annual billing need to send an email to billing@alsiraat.vic.edu.au The College will then apply 13% Advance Payment Discount.
Student Withdrawals
To avoid being billed for Term 1 of 2027, you need to submit a Student Withdrawal Form to our Enrolment Team 10 weeks in advance by emailing enrolments@alsiraat.vic.edu.au
Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to share the video recording and slides from Professor Mohamad Abdalla’s recent parent seminar, Tarbiyah in the Qur’an: A Guide for Parents.
Drawing upon lessons from the Qur’an, Professor Abdalla explored:
- Tarbiyah as the gradual nurturing of a child’s iman, character and sense of responsibility before Allah.
- Children as an amanah from Allah, possessing dignity that should be protected.
- Parenting lessons from Luqman, Ibrahim and Ya‘qub (peace be upon them).
- Nurturing tawhid, salah, patience, humility and good speech within our children.
- Building loving relationships before offering instruction and correction.
- Combining rahmah with clear and consistent boundaries.
- Correcting behaviour without humiliating the child or closing the door to tawbah and positive change.
- Modelling the Islamic character and conduct we hope to see in our children.
- Making sincere and consistent du‘a for their guidance and righteousness.
A key reminder was that our goal is not merely to raise academically successful or outwardly obedient children. Rather, we should strive to nurture young Muslims who know and worship Allah, embody good character, make responsible choices and serve others.
Professor Abdalla also shared practical ways to strengthen tarbiyah at home, including praying together, having device-free conversations, learning about Islam as a family, expressing gratitude to Allah, consulting children appropriately and participating in acts of service.
