Our Foundation students recently celebrated an exciting milestone: 100 Days of School!

Throughout the day, students enjoyed a range of fun and creative activities to mark the occasion. They designed their own colourful 100 Days hats and made special 100 Days wristbands to celebrate their achievement. Each student also received a certificate recognising their completion of 100 days of school.

The day concluded with a joyful 100 Days celebration, bringing students together with their classmates and teachers to celebrate this special milestone.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our Foundation students to reflect on how much they have learned, grown and achieved during their first 100 days at Al Siraat.

We are so proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing what the next 100 days will bring!

Our Year 2 students enjoyed a wonderful excursion to CERES Community Environment Park, where they explored Aboriginal culture and developed a deeper understanding of the importance of caring for Country.

Throughout the day, students listened to Dreaming stories, explored the natural environment and discovered how Aboriginal people have traditionally used native plants for food, medicine and making tools.

Through engaging, hands on activities, students had the opportunity to learn about the land, its significance and the importance of respecting Country and its Traditional Custodians.

It was a fun and enriching day that helped our students build a greater appreciation for Australia’s First Nations cultures and the deep connection between people, Country and the natural world.

What a fantastic achievement from our Year 3 and 4 girls’ and boys’ basketball teams at the Hoop Time Basketball Gala Day!

Our students competed at the Super Star and Future Star representative basketball levels, taking on some excellent competition and demonstrating great enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.

For many of our students, this was their first experience representing Al Siraat in a school basketball team, making the day an especially valuable and memorable experience. It provided our students with the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence and gain valuable experience playing competitive basketball.

We are extremely proud of the way our Year 3 and 4 students represented our school. Their determination, positive attitude and willingness to learn will help prepare them for future school sporting competitions.

Well done to all our players! We look forward to seeing you continue to develop your basketball skills and proudly represent Al Siraat in future competitions.

Our Year 5 students recently had the exciting opportunity to learn all about fishing and boating through the Little Anglers Program. This is a statewide program where fishing rod kits are distributed to over 1,800 students from Year 5 across Victoria.

We were delighted to welcome Chris Padovani, Senior Manager Boating at Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA), and Anthony McGrath, Executive Officer of Victorian Recreational Fishing (VRFish), who visited our College to speak with our students about fishing, boating safety and enjoying Victoria’s waterways responsibly.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the interactive session and were especially excited to receive their very own fishing rod kit, each including a fishing rod, reel with line, tackle box with hooks, lead-free sinkers, swivels and a lure, along with a Kids Guide to Fishing – all FREE!

The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn new skills, discover more about recreational fishing and develop an appreciation for our local waterways and the importance of staying safe around water.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) and Victorian Recreational Fishing (VRFish), for running this program for all Year 5 students in Victoria and for Chris and Anthony for taking the time to visit Al Siraat College and engage with our Year 5 students.

We are grateful for their support in providing our students with such a memorable and educational experience and for sharing their knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for fishing and boating with our students, and look forward to seeing our young anglers putting their new fishing rods to good use!
