Al Siraat, in collaboration with the Centre for Muslim Wellbeing, recently hosted a two-day Mental Health First Aid workshop in the Assembly Hall.
The nationally recognised course was facilitated by qualified Muslim instructor, Ms Manar Chelebi, and was held across Sunday, 16 August and Sunday, 23 August 2026.
The workshop provided participants with practical knowledge and confidence to recognise signs of common mental health challenges, have supportive conversations, respond appropriately to mental health crises, and guide individuals towards professional support when needed.
The sessions were very well received, with participants engaging positively throughout the two days. Those who successfully completed both sessions will receive an Accredited Mental Health First Aider Certificate, valid for three years.
We are proud to support initiatives that strengthen the wellbeing, resilience and support networks of our students, families and wider community.
At Al Siraat, we are committed to fostering a community that upholds Islamic values of respect, responsibility, and care for others. As such, we kindly remind all parents and guardians of the importance of adhering to road safety rules and parking regulations when dropping off or picking up children.
We encourage you to view this link with important educational information and material to be aware of correct behaviour around schools and school crossings.
To ensure the safety of our students, staff, and neighbours, please observe the following:
- Respect Our Neighbours: Do not park in front of driveways, as this causes inconvenience and may lead to complaints.
- Follow Road Signs & Speed Limits: Obey all ‘No Parking’ signs, speed limits, and other road rules at all times.
- Use Designated Drop-Off & Pick-Up Zones: These zones are designed to ensure a smooth and safe process. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in these areas.
- Allow Extra Time: Congestion can occur during peak hours. Plan your arrival with sufficient time to avoid unnecessary stress.
- Pedestrian Safety: Teach your children to always look both ways before crossing the road. They must ALWAYS use the designated pedestrian crossings and follow the instructions of our crossing supervisors.
- Council Enforcement: The local council is actively monitoring traffic compliance around the school. Fines will be issued to those who fail to obey parking and road regulations.
Observing these guidelines is not only a legal requirement but also an Islamic duty of Amanah (trust) and Ihsan (excellence in conduct). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." (Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim)
Let us embody these values by ensuring that our actions reflect care and consideration for our community. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in making the school environment safe and harmonious for everyone.
