Masha’Allah! We are incredibly proud of Hasan S., who has made history as the first Al Siraat College student to represent the College in multi-class athletics and progress all the way to the Victorian State Finals in shot put!

Hasan secured 1st place at both the District and Division SSV competitions, before achieving an outstanding 2nd place at the Regional Victorian competition, earning his place in the State Finals!

This is a wonderful achievement and a proud milestone for our College. Hasan’s determination, commitment and perseverance have taken him to new heights, and we look forward to cheering him on at the Victorian State Athletics Championships.

Congratulations, Hasan! We wish you all the very best for the State Finals. The Al Siraat community is cheering you on!

We have some lovely news to share with our families! Our beautiful Babydoll sheep have moved into their new grass enclosure in the heart of the College. With their fluffy coats, gentle nature and curious personalities, they’re already bringing smiles to students and staff!

Connecting Education, Tarbiyah and Wellbeing

Some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the classroom. Everyday encounters with animals and nature can spark curiosity, encourage reflection and nurture a sense of connection with the world around us.

Our approach to education and tarbiyah focuses on nurturing the whole child, bringing together learning, wellbeing, character development and spiritual growth.

Having our sheep in the heart of the College provides opportunities for students to:

  • Support wellbeing: Enjoy moments of calm and connection with nature.
  • Inspire curiosity: Observe animal behaviour and explore the natural world.
  • Develop compassion (rahmah): Treat living creatures with gentleness and respect.
  • Practise stewardship (khalifah): Reflect on the amanah (trust) entrusted to us by Allah to care for His creation.
  • Encourage reflection: Appreciate the beauty and balance (mizan) of the natural world, connecting faith with everyday experiences.

A New Space to Enjoy

Unlike our Mini Farm, where students participate in structured animal care and hands-on learning activities, the new enclosure is designed for viewing, observation and quiet enjoyment. Students can appreciate the sheep as part of everyday College life while ensuring the animals feel safe and comfortable in their new home.

We hope our families enjoy hearing about the little moments of happiness and discovery the sheep bring to the school day.

And There’s More to Come…

Our sheep are settling in beautifully, but there’s still one thing missing – their names! Keep an eye out for exciting news about our newest residents, insha Allah.

We look forward to seeing these gentle animals become a much-loved part of College life, reminding us how education, wellbeing and tarbiyah can come together through simple, meaningful everyday experiences.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our Year 6 girls volleyball team, who secured an impressive second place at the Regional Volleyball Competition!

Our talented girls demonstrated exceptional teamwork, determination, sportsmanship, and resilience throughout the competition. Their commitment to training, their support for one another and their willingness to rise to every challenge were truly commendable.

This achievement reflects the hard work of our students, the dedication of their coaches and the continued support of the school community. The girls represented Al Siraat with pride, confidence and enthusiasm, showcasing not only their sporting abilities but also the values of respect, perseverance and teamwork.

Congratulations to our amazing volleyball girls on this remarkable accomplishment: You have made our College proud, and your success is an inspiration to other students to pursue their sporting goals with passion and dedication.

Well done, girls! This is a fantastic achievement, and we look forward to seeing you reach even greater heights in the future!

Yesterday, our Foundation students enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Bundoora Farm. The weather was warm and pleasant (not too hot and not too cold), making it a perfect day to explore.

The bus ride was very exciting, and we began our visit by playing in the playground and enjoying our morning snack. We then set off to explore the farm, where students had the opportunity to feed cows and sheep.

Throughout the day, students took part in many hands-on activities: They made biodegradable pots and planted marigold seeds, helped to make compost, and used real sheep’s wool to create a picture. A highlight of the day was the tractor ride, where students saw emus and kangaroos.
