9 July 2020: Update on Term 3

Updated July 2020

As you will all be aware, we have now entered a six week phase of new Stage 3 ‘Stay at Home’ restrictions.

The Premier yesterday gave a clear indication that it’s likely that government schools in designated areas (which includes the Melbourne metropolitan area) will return to remote learning in Term 3. The Victorian Government also announced that holidays for students in Prep to Year 10 in government schools in Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire will be extended by one week, ending on 19 July. During that time the government said teachers will prepare for the possible return to remote learning starting in week two of Term 3.

The government still has not made any announcement confirming its indication of a return to remote learning from Week 2 of Term 3. As an independent school, we are in the process of digesting all the different advice being provided and are completing our own risk assessment before making any decision.

I will let you know about Term 3 arrangements once we have finalised our plans for all grade levels, including VCE students. For now, as per our calendar Monday to Wednesday of next week are student free days. The plan for Thursday and Friday next week, along with the remainder of the term will be communicated to you as soon as we finalise our Term 3 plan.

Thank you for your patience during this time.
