Enrolling Your Child

Updated March 2020

2021 Applications are OPEN.

The processing of enrolment applications will CLOSE between 1 November 2020 – 27 January 2021.

Al Siraat College is accepting 2021 enrolment applications for children wishing to enter in any year level, subject to vacancies. At current, we have just under 1,000 students enrolled in the College. We endeavour to restrict classes to 25 students. However, under some circumstances some classes may exceed this number.

We are an Australian School in the Islamic Tradition. An important part of our learning is to uphold Islamic values in relation to manners, honesty and working together. Particular focus will be made on behaviour of students in determining the application.

To Enrol Your Child

You need to provide the following mandatory documents of enrolment:

  • Birth Certificate or passport copy
  • Visa details
  • Up to date Immunisation Certificate (from Medicare)
  • End of year reports for the last TWO completed school years (ie. complete 2018 & 2019 Semester 2 reports. This does not apply for Foundation applications.)
  • NAPLAN results (where applicable)
  • Pay $50 Enrolment Application Fee (per child, non-refundable processing fee).

ONLY COMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE PROCESSED!

School Tours

The College will hold tours throughout the term for families wishing to seek enrolment. Principal Mr Fazeel Arain will give an overview of the Vision, Values and strategic directions of the College, following by touring the school buildings and facilities.

Attending a tour is a compulsory part of the enrolment process.

Assessment

All students seeking enrolment are required to attend a PAT (Progressive Achievement Test). This computer generated assessment is used in thousands of schools in Australia and around the world and focuses on assessing the student’s growth and understanding in English and Mathematics. It is underpinned by an understanding that students of the same age and in the same year level can be at very different points in their learning and development.

Offers of Places

Offers of places are made as a result of a successful assessment and suitable school report. This will be based on a probationary period of one full school term (at least 9 weeks). Upon acceptance of an Offer of Enrolment, the necessary forms are required to be returned to the College and the Refundable Family Security Deposit will be due and payable to confirm the enrolment.
