    Mehanaz is originally from the Republic of Fiji Islands and teaches Islamic Studies and Quran at Al Siraat College.

    She has taught in an Islamic School as a Primary classroom teacher, teaching different Year levels for 12 years. While fulfilling her duties as an educator, she was also involved in other co-curricular activities at the school and with different organisations. After migrating to Australia, she joined Al Siraat College in 2011 as a Student Liaison Officer. She taught Qur'an and Islamic Studies at the College from 2012 to date. In 2015 and 2016, she took the challenge to take up the position of responsibility as a Junior School Islamic Studies Coordinator.

    Mehanaz is a hardworking and an enthusiastic primary school educator who is looking forward continuing with this rewarding teaching career. She possesses great skills in classroom management and employs varied teaching strategies. She brings her 17 years of teaching and learning experience and has an excellent rapport with all students in her care.

    Her vision for teaching is to: “Teach students with love and respect and to nurture the potential in every child as they acquire knowledge through discovery, motivation and hands on learning”.

    Ms Noorhayati "Noor" Kassim is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies at the Islamic Online University, Qatar. The studies are based on a modified curriculum derived from those of the Islamic University of Madeenah, Saudi Arabia; Omdurman Islamic University, Sudan; and Al-Azhar University, Egypt. Alhamdulillah, Ms. Noor is in her final year. She also holds a University Diploma of Teachers Assistant from Edith Cowan University, Western Australia that she completed in 2002.

    Ms Noor started her teaching career in Western Australia in 2004, teaching Islamic Studies and Qur’an. After moving to Victoria, she started teaching at East Preston Islamic College in 2006. During her three years of teaching at East Preston, she taught Islamic Studies and Qur’an to upper primary and secondary students. She also held a position of responsibility as the High School Girls’ Discipline Coordinator.

    Ms Noor currently teaches Islamic Studies and Qur’an at both primary and secondary levels. She is keen on providing a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to trust their own opinions, while fostering confidence in order for students to realize their full potential.
