In mid-June, two students from Al Siraat College participated in the McDonald’s Junior Basketball Tournament that was hosted by Basketball Ballarat: Abdulsalam Yussuf from Year 9 and Aleezah Afridi from Year 8 both competed in their respective teams against other Junior basketball teams in Victoria.
Both of these students’ teams worked well and were the runners-up in the competition! Well done to the both of them!
Here is a testimony from Abdulsalam on the event:
"It was a very fun tournament because I was able to spend more time with my teammates, friends and coaching staff. We had a total of 6 games, with 2 games daily, between Saturday to Monday, so it was mentally and physically challenging as we would not get enough sleep, but we were able to push ahead and play together as a team. We determined to go to the semi-finals, so we played our heart out, and in the end, I had a lot of fun playing in Ballarat."
