Alhamdulillāh, with immense gratitude to Allah ﷻ, Al Siraat is honoured to share truly historic and unforgettable news with our community.
On Thursday, 29 January 2026, Al Siraat witnessed a moment that will forever remain part of its history: One of our students, Al Siraat’s youngest Ḥāfiẓah, Iraj Mohammed, became the first student in the College’s history to recite the entire Qur’an in a single sitting.
The recitation commenced at 6.00am and concluded at 6.26pm, with only a few brief breaks of approximately 10 minutes throughout the day. This extraordinary feat required not only exceptional memorisation, but also immense physical endurance, mental strength, discipline, focus, and sincerity — all by the mercy and help of Allah ﷻ.
This milestone reflects years of steadfast effort, commitment, and a deep connection to the Book of Allah. It is a moment of great pride for the student, her family, her teachers, and the entire Al Siraat community.
Shaykh Waseem described this achievement as the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream, sharing that witnessing this milestone was deeply emotional and brought him immense happiness and gratitude, symbolising the success of sincere effort, duʿā, and long-term vision in nurturing students of Qur’an.
Following the completion, the occasion was marked with a small yet heartfelt celebration attended by the School Principal, Shaykh Waseem, Iraj’s parents Mohammad Sameer and Ms Hafsa Hanif, her younger sibling Areej Mohammed, the Primary Head Ms Inas, her Hifz teacher Ms Fauzia, and her aunt Ms Saniya Hanif. The gathering reflected collective joy, gratitude to Allah ﷻ, and recognition of this historic moment.
Later that evening, after Maghrib, Shaykh Ishaq led a deeply moving Khatm al-Qur’an duʿā, asking Allah ﷻ to accept this noble achievement, place barakah in it, make the Qur’an a light in the student’s life, and grant her steadfastness upon it until her last breath.
This Friday morning, Shaykh Waseem officially announced Iraj’s achievement before all Hifz and Ilm students. It served as a powerful source of inspiration, showing that with sincerity, patience, consistency, and reliance upon Allah ﷻ, even the greatest goals are achievable. This was followed by a heartfelt duʿā by Shaykh Ishaq, reminding students of the honour and responsibility of carrying the Qur’an.
This marks a defining moment in Al Siraat’s journey and sets a new benchmark of excellence within our Qur’an programs. It is a testament to the dedication of our teachers, the support of families, and above all, the boundless mercy of Allah ﷻ.
May Allah ﷻ accept this from Iraj and her family, raise her ranks through the Qur’an, and make her among those who live by it with sincerity, excellence, and humility. Āmīn.
