We are pleased to announce the launch of The Murabbi Video Series: Tarbiyyah & Islamic Parenting, a monthly video series developed to support parents and educators in building strong, meaningful relationships with children and young people through an Islamic framework of tarbiyyah.
This series is produced in collaboration with Professor Mohamad Abdalla, from Adelaide University, who is the Founding Director of the Centre for Islamic Thought and Education (CITE), within the School of Education. The focus of the series is on how tarbiyyah begins with connection, through presence, trust, and role-modelling, and how tawḥeed (the belief in the oneness of God and living with Allah at the centre of one’s life) sits at the heart of raising children who are grounded, secure, and morally anchored.
Each episode highlights the Prophetic approach to nurturing the young: building relationships based on mercy and respect, listening with care, honouring dignity, and guiding through lived example. The series reinforces that effective Islamic parenting is rooted in relationships before rules, and role-modelling before instruction.
Parents and educators are encouraged to engage with this series as a practical resource to support intentional, relationship-centred nurturing. New episodes will be released monthly, in sha Allah.
May Allah swt grant us wisdom in how we nurture the young, place sincerity in our efforts, and allow our children to grow with firm faith and sound character. Ameen.
