Prophetic Morning Athkār List – Term 2

29 April 2026

Since the commencement of Term 2, students have begun reciting a new Term 2 Morning Athkār list during Secondary Majlis as the first act of their school day.

Prophetic Morning Athkār List – Term 2

In Term 2, we have maintained key daily remembrances such as Āyatul Kursī, the Mu‘awwidhāt (Surah Al-Ikhlās, Al-Falaq and An-Nās), and sending ṣalawāt upon the Prophet ﷺ, while rotating other athkār.

This term, students are being introduced to:

  • Sayyidul Istighfār – The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever recites it in the morning with conviction and passes away before evening will enter Jannah. (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306)
  • Hasbiyallāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa, ʿalayhi tawakkaltu... – a powerful Qur’anic supplication from Surah At-Tawbah (9:129) that teaches students to place their trust in Allah during moments of worry and difficulty.
  • The dhikr of Juwayriyah (RA) – The Prophet ﷺ taught Juwayriyah (RA) three phrases to be recited three times, and informed her that they outweighed the dhikr she had spent the entire morning reciting. (Sahih Muslim 2726)

The goal is for students to gradually memorise and become familiar with as many authentic prophetic remembrances as possible by the end of the year.

Please see the attached PowerPoint slides for the Arabic text, translations, hadith references, virtues, and further explanation of each dhikr.

We kindly encourage families to reinforce these athkār at home, particularly on weekends and during school holidays when students are not participating in Morning Majlis.

Jazākumullāhu khayran for your continued support.
