Our commitment to Hifz is shown by recruiting specialist Hufaaz who are dedicated in progressing their students through an intensive and rigorous program of studies. Other specialist teachers are available to ensure that students are able to concurrently achieve the outcomes of the Australian curriculum.
The criteria to get into one of the Hifz classes is based upon the student having a successful academic record for mainstream subjects, being proficient in the reading of Quran, and demonstrating mastery of memorisation of Juz 30.
An assessment is conducted by one of our Hifz teachers and after a two week trial period (depending on availability at the time of application), a decision is made about the enrolment into this special program.
As class sizes are limited, the competition to get into one of these classes is high.
At present, the program is only offered for current students in Year 2 who are going to be in Year 3 next year.
Please complete our ONLINE HIFZ Application Form by no later than Friday, 1st August 2025.
As part of the Learning Enrichment Acceleration Program (LEAP), Al Siraat is excited to be taking part in the Tournament of Minds (TOM) Challenge in 2025. The Regional Final will be held at La Trobe University in Bundoora on Saturday, 23rd August, and we will be sending four outstanding student teams from Years 7 and 8 LEAP Inquiry classes to represent the college this year, Inshallah.
For six weeks, student teams will work independently to solve the TOM Long-Term Challenge of their choice. Student teams work with the support of a Teacher Facilitator and develop their challenge solutions as a team. They will solve a difficult problem with specific rules and limited use of resources, with the goal of generating a brilliant and creative solution. On Tournament Day, students will also face a Spontaneous Challenge. This is a surprise task that tests their quick thinking and teamwork skills. It is an exciting experience that shows how well students can work together under pressure.
Tournament of Minds is not just a competition; it is a celebration of the power of teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking. Every year, many parents, teachers, and spectators come to watch the amazing presentations and ideas created by the students.
Our Year 7 and 8 LEAP students will start work very soon, and the selected four teams will attend the Regional Final on Tournament Day. We encourage every Year 7 and 8 LEAP Inquiry TOM Team to take up the challenge and bring their energy and creativity to the Tournament of Minds in 2025.
We wish them the best for embarking on this exciting and challenging experience.

Our Year 9 girls recently stepped out of the classroom and into a hands-on learning experience at the 2025 Trade and Tech Fit Career Expo, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and proudly hosted by the Department of Education and Training (DET). This marked Al Siraat’s second year participating, and it certainly did not disappoint.
From welding sparks and flight simulators to game design and robotics, the expo offered a high-energy glimpse into industries where women are still underrepresented. Designed to empower students to explore a wide range of career pathways in trades, technology and beyond, the event was both exciting and eye-opening.
With over 3,350 students from 125 schools in attendance, the expo buzzed with innovation. Our girls stepped into the shoes of builders, pilots, programmers and engineers—testing tools, asking questions, and gaining confidence as they explored new career possibilities.
More than just educational, the event was inspiring. For many, it opened doors to options they may never have considered and sparked curiosity about where their passions could lead. Events like this powerfully complement our VET courses, helping students make informed and confident decisions about their futures.
With 100+ industry exhibitors from sectors like:
• Construction, aviation, and engineering
• Automotive, marine, and aerospace
• Renewable energy and essential services
• Agriculture, logistics, cloud tech, and robotics
... there was truly something for every student to explore.
We look forward to supporting our students as they build on this experience and take the next steps in discovering who they want to become and how they want to contribute to the world around them.

Our Year 3 students had an exciting adventure at CERES, diving deep into the wonders of nature! We explored how the Earth’s ecosystems work and how humans have impacted the water cycle.
Students discovered the unique needs of different animal groups like reptiles, mammals, and insects, and how their habitats are changing. Most importantly, we learned what we can do to help restore and protect these ecosystems, because even small actions can make a big difference for the planet!
It was a memorable day of discovery, reflection, and inspiration, planting seeds of environmental stewardship in the hearts of our future changemakers.

As part of their Certificate II in Community Services, our Year 10–11 students at Al Siraat College recently embraced a hands-on learning experience with a heartwarming visit to Aeralife Northpoint aged care residence.
Situated just minutes from Epping’s town centre, Aeralife Northpoint offers a beautifully designed space filled with natural light and scenic views of surrounding wetlands and walking trails. The setting provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our students, who were honoured to engage with the residents and experience real-world community service in action.
The excursion offered far more than a chance to complete assessment tasks. It provided students with a meaningful opportunity to build relationships, demonstrate empathy, and contribute positively to the wellbeing of others. Throughout the visit, students ran a variety of interactive activities, including board games, bowling, puzzles, and word searches. Laughter and lively conversation filled the room, reflecting the genuine connections made during the day.
To conclude the visit, students offered heartfelt gestures of appreciation by presenting residents with flowers, chocolates, and handwritten thank you cards. Their thoughtfulness left behind smiles, special memories, and new friendships that truly captured the spirit of community service.

Our Year 1 students recently enjoyed a vibrant Dojo Redemption Celebration hosted by our enterprising Year 6 students. The younger students had the chance to redeem their hard-earned Dojo points by participating in a variety of fun and engaging activity stations, and what a wonderful time they had!
This term, the Year 6 students engaged in the world of consumer studies in Humanities and had the opportunity to plan their very own businesses for the Year 1 Dojo Redemption Day. The challenge? Present their brilliant ideas to a panel of judges, and then bring them to life with a budget and a well-thought-out plan!
The students worked hard to set up exciting stalls for the Year 1’s, with activities on offer including ball games, bowling, car racing, face painting, henna art, obstacle courses, slime stations and even an adopt-a-pet stall! There was something for everyone, and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for both the Year 1’s and Year 6’s, filled with fun and plenty of smiles all around!
As our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said: "Whoever brings happiness to the hearts of others, Allah will bring happiness to their heart on the Day of Judgment.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

Students from Years 3 to 6 who earned top dojo honours were treated to an exciting excursion to the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) this week. The special visit celebrated their positive efforts with a journey through time at the Story of the Moving Image exhibition.
The session was packed with hands-on learning and discovery. Students explored how artists, inventors and filmmakers have used light, shadow, time, movement, colour and sound throughout history to tell stories and bring images to life. From shadow puppetry, the earliest form of animation, to vintage film cameras and cutting-edge interactive displays, students gained a fascinating insight into the evolution of storytelling through technology.
Highlights of the visit included experimenting with storyboards, playing retro video games, and watching how early film and animation techniques paved the way for the media we enjoy today. The students came away inspired, engaged, and full of ideas, making it a memorable and educational reward for their hard work.
Congratulations again to all our top dojo students for earning this well-deserved experience!

Our Parents and Friends Community (PFC) recently partnered with the Libyan Women Association to host a vibrant Multicultural Eid Ul-Adha dinner and celebration. The event brought together over 150 guests from diverse cultural backgrounds, celebrating the spirit of Eid through unity, colour, and joy.
As beautifully reminded in the Qur’an, the diversity of our languages, colours, and backgrounds is a sign of Allah’s wisdom and a reason to come together in understanding, not division. This spirit was truly felt throughout the event, where hearts and cultures connected across generations.
Children from the Libyan Women Association stole the show with a heart-warming Eid skit and brought smiles to the faces of other young guests by sharing thoughtful gifts. Laughter, shared traditions, and warm hospitality filled the room, transforming the Auditorium into a vibrant space of celebration and unity.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms Gulhan Yoldas, whose dedication and commitment to community engagement helped make this event possible. Special thanks also go to our talented female Media students for capturing the beautiful moments on camera for us all to treasure.
This celebration was proudly supported by the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs, helping us build bridges of understanding and connection within our local community.
