As part of our ongoing Islamic parenting series with Professor Mohamad Abdalla, we are pleased to share the latest episode focusing on meaningful learning and character development.

How do we move children from simply receiving information to truly living what they learn?

In Episode 4, Professor Mohamad Abdalla explores the importance of structured learning (tadrīs), alongside parental reinforcement and a strong school–home partnership, in nurturing children grounded in faith, character, and understanding.

We are delighted to share that “Her Halaqa” will be recommencing tomorrow evening, alhamdulillah.

Our first session for Term 2 will take place this Friday, with gatherings continuing fortnightly on the following dates:

  • 1st May
  • 15th May
  • 5th June
  • 19th June

Each session will begin at 5:45pm and conclude around 7:00pm.

These evenings offer a beautiful opportunity for sisters to come together in remembrance, reflection, and connection. Her Halaqa continues to be a special space to reconnect, recharge, and support one another in a warm and welcoming environment.

All sisters are most welcome to attend, and no registration is required – simply come along.

We are truly looking forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces, and to sharing these uplifting evenings together and would love to see you there, inShaAllah.

Since the commencement of Term 2, students have begun reciting a new Term 2 Morning Athkār list during Secondary Majlis as the first act of their school day.

In Term 2, we have maintained key daily remembrances such as Āyatul Kursī, the Mu‘awwidhāt (Surah Al-Ikhlās, Al-Falaq and An-Nās), and sending ṣalawāt upon the Prophet ﷺ, while rotating other athkār.

This term, students are being introduced to:

  • Sayyidul Istighfār – The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever recites it in the morning with conviction and passes away before evening will enter Jannah. (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306)
  • Hasbiyallāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa, ʿalayhi tawakkaltu... – a powerful Qur’anic supplication from Surah At-Tawbah (9:129) that teaches students to place their trust in Allah during moments of worry and difficulty.
  • The dhikr of Juwayriyah (RA) – The Prophet ﷺ taught Juwayriyah (RA) three phrases to be recited three times, and informed her that they outweighed the dhikr she had spent the entire morning reciting. (Sahih Muslim 2726)

The goal is for students to gradually memorise and become familiar with as many authentic prophetic remembrances as possible by the end of the year.

Please see the attached PowerPoint slides for the Arabic text, translations, hadith references, virtues, and further explanation of each dhikr.

We kindly encourage families to reinforce these athkār at home, particularly on weekends and during school holidays when students are not participating in Morning Majlis.

For families who would also like to revise the Term 1 Morning Athkār list, it can be accessed here: https://tinyurl.com/term1list

Jazākumullāhu khayran for your continued support.
