On Friday 29 May, our students celebrated the 2026 Muslimah’s Ball atThe Grand Reception, proudly hosted by the Student Support Department (Secondary).
The evening brought together students from across the Secondary years for a memorable celebration of sisterhood, joy, and connection. Filled with laughter and excitement, the event provided students with the opportunity to strengthen friendships and create lasting memories.
Throughout the night, our students enjoyed a variety of activities, including the popular photobooth station, where they captured special moments with friends. Highlights of the evening included a fashion parade showcasing students from each year level, a crowning ceremony, and a delicious dinner and dessert.
The beautifully decorated venue, thoughtfully styled by our very own Ms Gulsen, provided the perfect setting for an uplifting and enjoyable evening. Elegantly dressed in their gowns, our Muslimahs embraced the spirit of the event, celebrating sisterhood, friendship, confidence, and community.
This truly was a special occasion for our girls. Our sincere gratitude goes to the Student Support Department team (SSD) for their efforts in organising the event, to Ms Gulsen for the beautiful décor, and to the staff who attended and generously assisted with supervision and responsibilities throughout the evening.
We look forward to an even bigger and more memorable Muslimah’s Ball in 2027, InShaa Allah.
Our Year 8 LEAP students visited Queen Victoria Market as part of their Sustainability Inquiry unit earlier on 21 May 2026.
Our students enjoyed a guided tour and explored one of Melbourne’s most iconic destinations, while experiencing the many sights, sounds and smells of the market. From fresh produce and specialty foods to busy traders and community spaces, the excursion provided a rich and engaging learning experience beyond the classroom.
Throughout the day, students investigated real-world examples of sustainability in action: They learned how businesses and organisations at the market work to reduce waste, manage resources responsibly and support more sustainable food systems. Students were able to see how environmental, social and economic sustainability are connected in everyday life.
The excursion helped bring classroom learning to life and provided valuable evidence and ideas for students’ Inquiry Reports. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their understanding of sustainability while enjoying a memorable day of learning in the heart of Melbourne.
A special thank you to the staff who supported and supervised the excursion. Their organisation, guidance and care helped make the day a safe, enjoyable and successful learning experience for all students.

Our Foundation students enjoyed an exciting and educational Aboriginal Culture Incursion during Reconciliation Week. The session provided students with a wonderful opportunity to learn about Australia’s First Nations peoples and explore aspects of traditional Aboriginal culture.
Our youngest students were introduced to an Aboriginal greeting and learned about the significance of storytelling, symbols, and art within Aboriginal communities. They discovered how Aboriginal people traditionally made paint using natural materials such as stones, rocks, and charcoal. The students were fascinated to learn how colours could be created from resources found in nature.
During the hands-on workshop, students explored different tools and implements used for painting and were taught the meanings behind several traditional Aboriginal symbols. They then had the opportunity to create their own paint and use it to decorate a wooden boomerang, which they proudly took home.
The incursion was an engaging and memorable experience that allowed students to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal culture through observation, discussion, and creative expression. We were delighted to see the enthusiasm and curiosity shown by all students throughout the day.
A big thank you to our presenters for providing such an enriching learning experience for our Foundation students.
