Our Year 3 students enjoyed an engaging and educational excursion to CERES Environment Park in Brunswick, where they participated in the “Towards Zero Waste” program.
Through a range of hands on activities, students discovered the impact waste has on our environment and explored practical ways to reduce pollution and protect our natural resources.
"Do not cause corruption upon the earth after it has been set in order.” (Qur'an 7:56)
They took part in a Merri Creek clean up, learnt how food scraps can be transformed into nutrient rich compost, and even created their own recycled paper during a papermaking workshop.
The experience brought sustainability to life, encouraging students to think critically about the choices they make each day. As students explored ways to care for the environment, they were reminded that, as Muslims, we are entrusted with the responsibility of being stewards of Allah’s creation.
"Indeed, Allah loves those who act with excellence.” (Qur'an 2:195)
They returned inspired with practical ideas they can apply at school, at home and within the wider community.

As part of our Year 4 Humanities unit on Cultural Diversity, our staff shared their rich cultural backgrounds with students in a wonderful celebration of diversity and belonging. Staff members proudly presented cultures from Egypt, Germany, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Somalia, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
Staff members proudly presented cultures from Egypt, Germany, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Somalia, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
Students were immersed in a variety of engaging experiences throughout the day. They:
⭐ Experienced early morning life in Somalia (Ms Hawa)
⭐ Embarked on an interactive South African safari (Mr Vis)
⭐ Discovered fascinating facts about Pakistan (Ms Haniah)
⭐ Learnt about martial arts in Singapore (Mr Hafidi)
⭐ Participated in a traditional German Frisian tea ceremony (Ms Tanja)
⭐ Journeyed through the culture and traditions of Sri Lanka (Ms Shazmin)
⭐ Worked collaboratively to build the pyramids of Giza (Ms Hadeer)

These immersive activities encouraged curiosity, cultural understanding and appreciation for the diverse experiences of people around the world.
To conclude the event, students showcased the skills they have been developing during their co-curricular lessons by creating beautifully arranged cultural tablescapes and sharing traditional foods from their own backgrounds. This meaningful experience provided students with the opportunity to celebrate both their own heritage and the diverse cultures of others.
The day was a fitting and memorable conclusion to the term, reminding us that our differences are something to be celebrated and that diversity enriches our school community.
As the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
This hadith beautifully reminds us to treat one another with kindness, respect and compassion, regardless of our differences. May Allah continue to unite our hearts, strengthen the bonds within our community, and allow us to always celebrate and appreciate the diversity that enriches us all. Ameen.

This semester, our Year 6 students embarked on an exciting and authentic learning experience through the Shark Tank Challenge. Working collaboratively in teams, they designed and planned a game booth for our Year 1 and Year 2 Dojo Day.
Throughout the project, students developed key skills in budgeting, teamwork, communication, problem solving, leadership, and critical thinking as they considered resources, refined their ideas, and created proposals that would appeal to both the younger students and the panel of “Sharks.” It was wonderful to see them demonstrate creativity, resilience, and determination throughout the planning process.
A highlight of the project was the Shark Tank presentations, where students confidently pitched their ideas and requested funding for their stalls. The Sharks challenged them to justify their decisions, consider risks, and think critically about their plans. While some groups secured additional funding and others had to rethink aspects of their proposal, every student gained valuable firsthand experience in entrepreneurship and real world problem solving. More importantly, they learned that success is not only about the final outcome, but also about perseverance, effort, and learning from setbacks.
The project culminated in a fantastic Dojo Day for our Year 1 and Year 2 students. The Year 6 students took ownership of their stalls, managed their activities independently, and worked tirelessly to ensure the younger students had an enjoyable experience. The smiles, laughter, and excitement throughout the day were a testament to the effort and preparation that had gone into the event.
Most importantly, it was heartening to witness our students displaying beautiful Islamic character through their patience, kindness, cooperation, and service to others. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented themselves and our school community.
May Allah (SWT) place barakah in the knowledge and skills they have gained, and may He continue to guide them to use their talents in ways that benefit others and bring goodness to the world around them. Ameen.
We thank all families for their support in making this authentic learning experience such a success.

There has been plenty of excitement at the ASC Farm with the arrival of two adorable baby goats, born just two days ago. Alhamdulillah, both kids (the name given to baby goats) and their mother Buttons are doing well, and the newest members of our farm family are already delighting everyone with their playful curiosity and energetic personalities.
Did you know that baby goats are called kids, while female goats are known as does and males are called bucks? Kids are often able to stand and walk within minutes of being born and are naturally inquisitive, spending much of their day exploring, hopping and playing as they grow stronger.
The arrival of these little ones is a wonderful reminder of the beauty of Allah’s creation and the valuable learning opportunities our farm provides. Watching the animals grow helps students develop an appreciation for nature, responsibility, and compassionate care for living creatures.
The excitement is far from over, as we are expecting more kids to be born during the term break, inShaAllah. We look forward to welcoming more new arrivals and sharing this special season of new life with our College community.
May Allah (SWT) continue to bless our farm and all those who care for His creation.
Our Parents and Friends Committee (PFC), in collaboration with the Libyan Women Association, recently hosted the Eid Day – Motherhood: Cultivators of the Ummah celebration, bringing together sisters from our community for an uplifting evening of reflection, connection and gratitude.
A highlight of the event was an inspiring keynote address by Sister Nina Fashik who spoke about the profound role mothers play in nurturing families, strengthening communities and shaping future generations.
Guests also enjoyed a beautiful Qur'an recitation, a heartfelt video tribute celebrating mothers and daughters, and a moving nasheed performance by our talented Year 6 Songbirds.
The evening concluded with a delicious dinner, offering attendees the opportunity to connect and strengthen friendships, before Sr. Dania led a heartfelt closing du'a.
The event was a truly blessed and memorable celebration, honouring the invaluable contributions of mothers as the cultivators of the Ummah. May Allah (SWT) reward all those who contributed to the success of this special gathering.
